"We've arrived."

Piercing slopes of mineral deposits gave way to a striking palace the size of giants; A true marvel to behold. It sits atop a series of sedimented columns and pressed upon the heavily jagged edges of the rocks, almost hidden. The bright area had been scarcely lit by many jeweled flowers similar to the ones outside,

Most of the children, now on foot, approached the tall fortress with heads craning left and right. They stopped at what supposed to be the entrance yet were only met with a moss-ridden wall.

"Where do we go from here?" asked Jean, knuckles already bruised as he and Eren punched and banged on the wall as though it would push a secret button that would reveal the opening.

Pieck had gone off with Annie and Zeke to scout the area of its many dark corners though still maintaining a safe distance with Abel. Mikasa had been quietly conversing with Levi, probably theorizing what kind of danger awaited them beyond that palace.

Abel appeared from within the titan's nape enveloped in fumes, panting. She looked at Armin. "Tell them to stay back."

Levi, having heard this request, called out. "Oi!"

"Abel's calling for us to stay close!" added Armin.

Having heard the ruckus, Zeke and the others quickly gathered around Abel who reached her palm towards the castle. Then, with trembling fingers, she closed her hand as if grabbing on to thin air, and the ground slowly rumbled. Cracks shot from the corners of the intricately carved castle until pieces of it fell, echoing thunders of dilapidated sediments throughout the cavern floor.

"Can all of you do that?" Levi squinted his eyes at the blast of dust that blew their way from the total destruction of what once was a sight to behold. "Look, we've already reached the threshold of your 'home', might as well give us a heads up to what we should be expecting."

"We don't want to accidentally put a bullet in somebody's head out of shock, now do we?"

Mikasa shot the boy beside him with a sharp glare. 'Way to go in being subtle with that threat'. As much as she shared his vigilance on the matter of entrusting the fate of their group to the hands of someone whose existence still remained very questionable to them, she did not, however, share his brash manner of outwardly addressing it.
"What he means is–"

Abel smiled, "I know what he means, Mikasa." Turning to Levi, she nodded her head and leapt from her titan, abandoning it to rot away in mere seconds as the kids backed away from the corpse's sickening display.

In the ruins of the castle revealed a hallway that looked quite out of place with the cave interior, donning a marbled texture, golden curves and a glossy finish. Lanterns of the illuminating flora hung from each side of the walls in a pale blue lighting.
