Rocking my legs I sit beside his hospital bed the room tense and heartbreaking. I try not cry so I wipe the tear that fell before he could see.
"Mi cya believe this dawg," he sobs and I take his hand in mine. He grips my hand tightly while trying to contain himself but his cries got heavier as realization kicks.
"Mi give mi all to say woman deh eno Jas, mi take very blame she throw, every accusation she have bout mi and mi work it out wid just fi end up like dis," his voice trembles.
"Yo it hard fi deal wid people like that bro because as yuh try fi dem it's like your own light a dim because a the energy you put in the person," I say as he sniffs.
"The worst part is that the baby weh deh in a har belly a not even fimi ute," he says catching me by surprise.

"Mi neva meet a gyal wicked so yet," I stare off into space trying to collect my thoughts after what I just heard.
I had the gut feeling that some shit was about to go down that involve her but this is too much.
Not wanting to burden him I let the silence take over as he slowly stops crying.

FLASBACKS Seven years ago

"Via that man love yuh like cook food so talk to him first before yuh jump to conclusions," I say and she sniffs.

"Mi feel like seh mi fi go just strip and get some money cuz wah else mi affi turn to," Lani says and I laugh at her poor state.
"Mi nuh think that ago fit yuh since everybody only wha see fat ass and ting," Via jokes and Lani frowns.
"Yah try seh mi ass flat dutty gyal?" she jokes and I watch as Via face switches.
"A joke girl move nuh," I narrow my eyes at her when Lani turns her back and Via's smile drops.
