Marigold slowly stepped out of the forest and down the sidewalk, her hands hanging limp at her side. She lifted her gaze to stare at the dark clouds of the sky. Sheesh, let's hope the rain starts later. The bus will take another 45 minutes or so to get here...

She sighed softly, her wings fluttering and drooping as she felt a water droplet. Oh, great. Marigold clicked her tongue with an annoyed tsk, holding her umbrella up and opening it. She held it over her head as the rain fell on its black fabric material. Marigold hummed softly as she stepped to the bus stop, stopping at the sign and leaning against it.

Now, she waited.

And waited.

And-

"M-MARIGOLD!!"

A small voice called out her name. Marigold perked up slightly to see Olive, trotting carefully toward her. Once they weren't far apart, Olive broke into a run and crashed into Marigold's chest.

"H-Hi!!"

The little bugs voice was squeaky and shaky. Also very quiet, when Olive was normally a loud being. Marigold held her close, draping her wings over Olive's body to shield her from the wet and cold atmosphere. Olive let herself sink into the warmer and taller girls embrace, letting out a small chirp of contentment.

"How was work, sweetheart?"

Marigold asked.

"Good!! Three long sessions today. Otto, Yarn, and Timber."

Olive answered and listed the names off easily. She has seen them all before- Yarn and Timber both usually came on Tuesday's. Otto was practically daily.

"Hm. No Clue Card?"

Marigold raised an eyebrow, and almost immediately felt Olive go tense. She tightened her grip.

"Please say they didn't....."

"..."

"....Yeah.... she did.... "

The two went silent for a moment. This wasn't the only first suicidal client Olive has had. When the first one ended themselves, Olive was devastated and blamed herself. By now, she has gotten used to it. Marigold is still learning and understanding, but she learned rather quick.

She suddenly felt Olive start to tremble, and Marigold held her up. She stood up straight, giving her a small kiss on the cheek. She pulled away slightly to murmur in the shorter ones ear.

"You did good. Do not blame yourself- it was their decision. It wasn't a good or smart one, but they decided it."

Olive sniffled, but nodded. The bus approached the couple and opened the doors. Olive pulled away from Marigold to climb on. When the driver asked for the money, she mumbled about Marigold paying. Marigold did, and when she finished and looked up at the bus- it was crowded. Marigold's heart skipped a small beat as she walked forward.

Once she found Olive, Olive stood and let Marigold sit down. Once she was settled, Olkve climbed comfortably into her lap. Marigold leaned her head back with a sigh.

She'll be okay.

Marigold sat out on the balcony. Olive was sound asleep and under the covers in their bed. Marigold sighed softly, staring at the rising sun beyond the horizon. She felt.... content, sure. Something was just off. Very off. Marigold couldn't quite put a finger on it though. Huh.

"Weird."
