Today, I'm playing my role as the third parent to my brother again. I'm 27 and both our parents still ask me for favours regarding Lee Chan's academics. It's ironic how I'm attending his Parents Day when I hated it myself, especially when his class teacher was mine 9 years ago.

Ms Seo has never changed, being her usual chatty self praising my brother's English and Economics marks with her usual exaggerative tone. The whole talk was getting a bit boring having Ms Seo doing all the talking. She unnecessary brought up my crap English, comparing how opposite the both of us were as if our parents don't as well. Ms Seo didn't seem like she was going to stop till the classroom door opened.

"Ms Seo, a parent is waiting outside," the woman said.

"I'll be there in a minute," Ms Seo replied before handing me Chan's report card.

"I would have loved to chat a bit more but I have a parent waiting," the woman in front of me told the both of us.

"Oh what a shame. Maybe next time," I faked a look of regret. Honestly, it would be nice if we never saw each other again.

"Well then, I'll walk you out the door," Ms Seo stood up, raising her hand up, gesturing to the door. I swiftly placed the report card in my tote bag and held onto my brother's wrist, yanking him out.

"Goodbye Ms Seo!" Chan exclaimed before closing the door when that parent headed inside.

Walking along the familiar corridor, my heart raced thinking of the memories I had at school 9 years ago. The first thing that came in mind was my seat neighbour, Joshua. My closest friends know how big of a crush I had on him, but after we parted ways after graduation, my feeling died down and my high school crush faze had ended. I couldn't help but sigh at the memories we had together, from borrowing stationary to running together at the class race. I remember very clearly when he ran side by side with me, stating that he didn't want to leave anyone behind since everyone else was up front. I was never good at any sport and he knew that. The fact that he was capable of running much faster but chose not to do so made my heart flutter.

As I got closer to the end of the corridor, a tall figure appeared. Since I didn't have my glasses on, I wasn't able to see their face properly even with my eyes squinted.

"Oh, noona, it's my English teacher!" Chan exclaimed.

His excitement towards his mentor was weirdly suspicious as he is not one to get energetic seeing a teacher. I looked ahead and watched as the same young man headed closer to us. I became a bit dumbfounded when I noticed how familiar his aura is.

"Hi Mr Hong!" Chan greeted his teacher cheerfully.

Hong?

That's when the man's face finally cleared up. I gasped as I recognised his face. How could I not when he's the same seat neighbour I had from 9 years ago, the one I so desperately wanted to meet months after graduation.

"Hey," Joshua said with a bunny smile.

"Noona, this is Mr Hong, my English teacher that came here 2 years ago," Chan explained.

I stared at the man in front of me, unable to form the words I had planned to say when I saw him again. A simple hi was the only thing that I could utter out before Chan continued to chat enthusiastically with his favourite teacher.

"Chan, you did well in your English exam, unlike your sister whom I could never teach well," Joshua said.

"Really?" my brother exclaimed, "How did you know my sister?"

There was no way I was letting my silly little brother have another excuse to tease me so I aggressively placed a hand on his mouth and apologised to Joshua. That boy, however, had other plans.
