"How's Guatemala?"
"Bien, bien. I met this little girl who is adorable - knows no English or French, but her smile - god, she's adorable."
"You seem in love."
"Maybe I am. She's only four, and had an infected arm - wound unclosed."
"Ouch. Isn't it like 1 in the morning?"
"Yeah. Anyway, hows Monaco?"
"It's actually pretty good, made a friend already... know somebody in my building."
"That's good! Right?"
"The friend is sweet, but the boy in my building is pissing off."
"You want me to come over there and beat him up?"
"Oh please, even I could beat you up to pulp."
"It's the thought that - oh wait, Eleanor, I have to go."
"Okay, have fun. Love you."
"Je t'aime."
THE CALL WITH MY BROTHER ENDED RATHER ABRUPTLY, but again, he's a doctor in places which truly need one, so I can't get pissed at him. He's actually doing something with his life. On the other hand, I've been here for four days now and have no ideas about my book except that I'll mention Monaco like - once.
Today morning I woke up by the sun shining through my windows which I'm yet to buy curtains for. It's January, the sun isn't supposed to be this bright. I covered my head with my white pillow and groan into it, my legs tossing and turning underneath the blanket. After a few minutes I checked the time from my watch which was placed on the wooden table next to my bed.
9:07 am. God. What the hell am I doing up so early? I think Monaco is changing me. I grab my phone and called my brother, missing our constant banter when we lived two minutes away from each other. I don't like it when people leave me.
After the call with my brother which was unfortunately cut short, I hop out of bed to brush my teeth and head to my kitchen to pray that somethings in the fridge. Nothing. Perfect! I decide I'll head to the café opposite to my building for today morning and make a mental reminder to go to the grocery shop.
Looking at the weather today, I wear a white maxi skirt which hangs just below my belly-button with a red scarf top that has white designs all over. I tighten my rose gold watch on my left hand and wear my lucky ring - a beautiful emerald stone with a gold ring, complimenting each other nicely. I put my hair up into a messy bun, a few hairs coming out of the low bun and resting on the back of my neck. I wear my tennis shoes, take my bag and head out the door.
