Y/N, the stepsister of Heeseung, was nestled into her favorite corner of the living room, her nose buried in a thick novel. Heeseung, on the other hand, was lounging on the couch, idly spinning a basketball on his finger.
"Hey, nerd," Heeseung called out, his voice dripping with mockery. "How many books have you read this week? Fifty?"
Y/N didn't bother to look up from her book. "Only five," she replied coolly. "But I can see you're still struggling with that one ball."
Heeseung's grin widened. "I'd rather play with a ball than bury my nose in dusty old books all day."
"Shows where your priorities are," she muttered, turning a page.
"Oh, come on, Y/N. Don't you ever get tired of being such a bore?" he teased, leaning back and tossing the ball into the air.
She sighed and marked her place in the book before closing it. "And don't you ever get tired of being such an insufferable flirt?"
Heeseung chuckled. "You know you love it."
"Love what exactly?" she retorted, her eyes narrowing. "The endless stream of vapid compliments or the constant ego stroking?"
Heeseung smirked. "Maybe it's my charming personality that you can't resist."
Before Y/N could reply, the front door burst open, and Beomgyu and Jeongin walked in, laughing about something.
"Hey, Heeseung!" Beomgyu called out, dropping his bag by the door. "You ready for practice?"
"Always," Heeseung replied, getting up to greet his friends. "What's up, guys?"
Jeongin noticed Y/N and gave her a friendly wave. "Hey, Y/N! How's it going?"
"Hey, Jeongin," Y/N replied, a genuine smile breaking across her face. "It's going well. Just trying to read in peace."
"Doesn't look like you're succeeding," Beomgyu said with a chuckle. "Heeseung bothering you again?"
"Isn't he always?" she said with an exaggerated sigh.
Heeseung rolled his eyes. "She's just mad because she secretly enjoys my company."
"Yeah, sure," Y/N shot back, her voice heavy with sarcasm. "That's exactly what it is."
Beomgyu and Jeongin exchanged amused looks. "Why do you two fight so much?" Jeongin asked, genuinely curious.
Y/N shrugged. "I guess it's just our dynamic. Heeseung lives to annoy me."
"And she lives to be a buzzkill," Heeseung added, though there was no real malice in his tone.
Beomgyu laughed. "I think it's entertaining. It's like a sitcom."
"More like a horror show," Y/N muttered under her breath.
"So, Y/N," Beomgyu said, leaning against the wall. "You still coming to Jeongin's birthday party this weekend?"
Y/N nodded. "Of course. Wouldn't miss it."
Heeseung's eyes narrowed slightly. "Wait, you're invited too?"
Beomgyu smirked. "Yeah, why wouldn't she be? She's cool."
"Unlike some people," Y/N added with a teasing glance at Heeseung.
Jeongin chuckled. "You know, Heeseung, she gets along better with us than you do sometimes."
Heeseung scowled playfully. "Traitors."
"Maybe because she's not always trying to impress everyone," Beomgyu pointed out. "She just...is."
Y/N blushed slightly at the compliment. "Thanks, Beomgyu."
