Jimin pov.
the intensity of Jungkook's lingering gaze made me squirm uncomfortably. Each glance he stole at me felt like a eternity, His eyes held a nonchalant glint, adding an unsettling edge to the moment.
I frowned and threw a sugar packet at him. "What?"
"I just find it interesting that you didn't want to tell me about your encounter with lisa."
"Ugh. I knew you'd think I had some ulterior reason for not telling you, but the truth is I just forgot."
"Forgot." He said the word like he was trying to decipher the meaning. "Was this Wednesday when you came over to discuss the project?"
"Yeah." I shrugged. What was his point?
"That's interesting. Because I saw you outside before you even entered the house which means you had probably just run into lisa. It's amazing how you forgot so quickly. Like within minutes."
I scoffed.
"You've got this uncanny talent for making me forget everything,"
My cheeks burned as the words left my lips, knowing how they would sound. That totally wasn't what I meant.
"Really?" He arched an eyebrow, clearly enjoying the banter. "So, my mere presence has that effect on you? I knew I had that charm with other girls, but not with you."
"That's not what I meant." I clenched my cup tightly, feeling the frustration bubbling up. "I meant you annoy me. You're so aggravating that I lose track of things."
"Sure, sure. Whatever you say," he replied, his eyes glinting mischievously.
"I'm being serious."
"I know, I know. Of course, you are," he teased, a smirk playing on his lips.
"See, this moment right now is a prime example," I said through gritted teeth.
He chuckled, and I let out a growl, grabbing a snowflake ornament and scribbling the first name and gift on it in annoyance. He did the same, a smug grin on his face.
As we worked on the requests, I found myself getting lost in the simple wishes written on the paper. Once we finished, we hung them on the tree with care.
"Are you going to the prom?" Jungkook asked, breaking the silence.
His question surprised me. Was he still thinking about that?
"Well, I don't know. It's our last year, so I'd like to," I said, leaving out the part where I didn't have a date.
"Who's taking you?" He looked at the tree, but I could see him glancing my way.
"Uh, what?"
"I asked who you're going with?"
"I think we need to spread these out a little more," I said, pointing to a bunch of snowflakes.
"Why are you avoiding my question?"
"I'm not avoiding it."
"You totally are."
"Am not."
He put his hands on his hips. "Then why haven't you answered me yet?"
"Because I don't have a date. Happy?"
Jungkook grinned. "Kind of."
I glared at him, wondering if I could melt him with my eyes. When I didn't say anything else, he asked, "So, little Mr. Perfect is dateless, huh?"
"Shut up," I retorted.
"How come you're dateless? Did no one ask you out, or did you turn them all down?"
