"And stay away from Evelina Snape."

Harry Potter stood in front of the large red train with his mother, Lily, and his father, James, ready to go off to his 6th year at Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry. He turned to his parents a smile on his face. "You behave, Harry." His mother warned him.
"And stay away from Evelina Snape." His father cut in. Lily slapped his arm in response. Harry rolled his eyes every single year his father warned him to stay away from Professor Snapes daughter, Evelina Snape. He never understood why she seemed perfectly nice despite being a Slytherin.

Harry sees his two friends Ron and Hermione. "There's Hermione and Ron. I'll see you at Christmas. Bye mum. Bye dad." Harry waves goodbye to his parents. They waved him off with a smile.

Harry, Ron and Hermione were seated in a compartment talking about their summers. "Father warned me about Evelina again." Harry sighed. "Well she is Snapes' daughter." Harry just nodded going quiet. He never understood why everyone disliked her just because her father was insufferable. The rest of the train ride was silent.

Evelina was preparing for her dorm mate Pansy Parkinson to come back. Evelina's mother had died when she was a baby and her father had lived at Hogwarts since he started teaching. Hogwarts was all she'd ever really known. It made her sad sometimes that she never got to leave at summer and christmas like everyone else but she was with her father and that's all that mattered to her.

The door opened and in walked Pansy Parkinson. "Evelina." She squealed dropping her stuff as she embraced Evelina in a hug. Pansy was Evelina's only true friend. She sometimes spoke to Draco but she never liked him. He was constantly picking on Harry Potter and Evelina always found it quite rude even though her father warned her about Harry she never understood why. He seemed nice.

"How was your summer?" Pansy asked her placing her bags on her bed. Evelina shrugged "Same as always. I've been stuck here all summer with dad."
"I don't know you can put up with being in Hogwarts all the time. I love it here but staying here all the time must get boring." Pansy said putting away her stuff. "At least I don't need to pack." Evelina laughs trying to brighten her own mood.

Evelina walked over to her wardrobe and pulled out her uniform. "Couldn't you have got changed before everyone came back?" Evelina shrugged and walked into the bathroom to get changed. After a couple minutes she came out fully dressed in her Slytherin robe, tie, school shirt and skirt. She walked over to the edge of her bed and picked up her doc martens.

"Ready to go?" Pansy asked. Evelina nodded and they left to go to the great hall for dinner and the first years sorting ceremony. Evelina's eyes scanned the great hall as she and Pansy walked to the Slytherin table. Her eyes ended up landing on Gryffindor table, specifically Harry Potter. He looked up, his blue eyes caught Evelina's and a blush made its way to her face. "Evelina?" She snapped her head to Pansy. "You okay?" Pansy asked. Evelina nodded and sat down at her seat.

Harry watched as Evelina turned to Pansy and sat down. "What are you staring at mate?" Harry turned to Ron. "Nothing, Nothing." He looked down at the table as Dumbledore started his speech.

"Hello and Welcome back or to Hogwarts. We have two changes to staffing this year. Potions will be taken over by Professor Slughorn while Defence Against The Dark Arts will be taken over by Professor Snape. I must remind you that the forbidden forest is closed off the all students. I also ask you to be in your common rooms by 9 O'clock. If you are caught breaking this curfew you will receive a detention or deduction of house points. Enjoy the feast."

                                        ~~

Harry and Ron watched the chaos of people finding their class whilst stood on the wall ledge. "Potter." Harry sighs as Professor McGonagall calls him over. "Enjoying ourselves are we?"
"I had a free period this morning, Professor."
"So I noticed. I would think you would want to fill it with potions or is it no longer your ambition to become an Auror?" She questioned.
"It was but I was told I had to get an outstanding in my O.W.L"

"So you did. When Professor Snape was teaching potions." Harry sighed at the mention of his least favourite professor he had no idea why the professor hated Harry so much. "However Professor Slughorn is more than happy to accept N.E.W.T's students with exceeds expectations." McGonagall continued. "Great well I'll head there now then."
"Oh and Potter take Weasley with you he looks far too happy over there." Harry nodded.

Evelina looked up as the door to her potions class opened. She smiled as she watched Harry walk in with his friend Ron. She'd always thought Harry was cute and he seemed nice. She'd always wished she could get to know him but for some unknown reason her father despised the boy. "Hello Harry. Brought someone with us I see?" Ron introduced himself then tried to leave. "Nonsense get your books out."
"Sorry sir I don't actually have my book yet and nor has Ron."
"That's alright get what you need from the cupboard." Evelina watched as Harry playfully hits Ron over the head with a worn out book. Harry walked over to the group of students trying to find space to stand. "Am I in your way if I stand here?" Evelina looked up.
"No you're okay." She smiled to which he returned.

The class were set to brew the Draught Of Living Death potion in order to win a vile of liquid luck. Evelina collected everything she needed. She had learned this potion ages ago. Her dad taught her everything he knew. Therefore she knew that the book's instructions were wrong.

                                        ~~

Slughorn walked around the class testing each potion. "Well we seem to have a tie. Miss Snape and Mr Potter your potions are both perfect."
"Harry can have the liquid luck sir. I don't need it." Evelina smiled. She did wonder how Harry got the potion so perfect but that wasn't important. "Alright then. Harry as promised one vial of liquid luck. Use it well." Slughorn warned handing Harry the vial.

                                        ~~

"Evelina wait." Harry called out. The brunette turned to face him. "Hey Harry. You okay?" She smiled. "I just wanted to say thank you." She looked confused. "For the liquid luck." He explained. She nodded. "Of course, don't worry about it."

"Where are you going?" Harry asked not wanting the conversation to be over yet. "I was heading the library to do some studying." She pointed in the direction of the library. "Oh cool I uh I was just heading there myself." Harry nervously scratched the back of his head. She smiled. "Why don't you join me?" She asked the boy. She knew her dad hated Harry's father but Harry isn't his father. He nodded nervously and the two walked to the library.
