At three-thirty in the afternoon, Hinata descended the metal step of public transport, anxious anticipation thrumming through her veins, stomach coiled tight and fluttering with nerves as her sandaled feet touched pavement. She was about an hour early but she couldn't really help that, the bus route didn't always run according to it's printed time, and she hadn't wanted to risk being an hour late by taking a chance that the bus would run on time.
She had enough working against her with this date.
She paused on the sidewalk, staring wide eyed out at the port a moderate distance away as the bus behind her slid its doors closed and drove away.
Set against the backdrop of a beautiful coastline, a lavish resort sat nestled amongst a coven of towering trees, exotic shrubbery and vividly hued flora. Massive, with high cloud colored walls and long reflective windows that stood floor to ceiling, the resort curved in a wide semi-circle spanning a significant amount of the sandy patch of land, its sprawling entrance nestled within the steepest curvature of the crescent. Three layers of stairs led up to open doors, pretty sapphire fountains bracketing the elevated path all the way up to the entryway. Stacks of what she presumed to be resort rooms and suites stacked several stories high along the concave structure, treated to the same reflective glass, the mirrored windows making the entire building look like a continuation of the surrounding paradisaic landscape.
Peering around, Hinata searched for anything remotely resembling a movie theater.
There weren't many commercial businesses around, a few small shops dotting the single two lane tan dirt road and a gas station a ways down, other than that, the landscape was fully dominated by a wide, sunny blue sky, vibrant green topped trees and sparkling cerulean water.
Had she...got off at the wrong stop?
That was entirely possible.
The ride to this address had been longer than she expected, though she'd cut down on the time significantly by catching a train halfway through the route, shaving fifteen minutes off her thirty-five minute commute.
She couldn't really complain considering Naruto had offered to pick her up.
Caution wouldn't allow her to do anything less than make her own way here, and an extra train ride was worth the price of safety.
Despite her promise to 'allow Naruto to spoil her' as Kiba-kun put it, Hinata wasn't in a position to completely throw caution to the wind and dive in blind. The potential of putting herself in an extremely vulnerable position she may or may not be able to wiggle out of was too high in her book, and she'd only gotten this far by trusting her instincts and avoiding as many unnecessary risks as possible. She couldn't allow Hot Pants Hinata to unravel all her work just to skip a somewhat inconvenient commute.
Besides, the trip had been full of beautiful, though, unfamiliar sights.
Hinata had never been to this neighboring city a stones throw from her neck of the woods, it was a welcome change of scenery from the grungy part of Konoha she lived in.
