LexSince Timmy was born a little early, the doctor wants him to stay in the hospital for a few days to see if he can gain a few more ounces and just to keep an eye on him.
Luckily he seems pretty healthy and both Steve and myself are grateful for that. Aria is in love with her baby brother and is constantly clamoring to hold him.
She'll announce to anyone within hearing range that Timmy is her baby. Steve and I will share a secret smile whenever Aria says that.
"Wait until he's old enough to fight back, " I tell Steve, who's holding Timmy, looking like an old pro.
"Oh, I'm sure," Steve agrees. He looks at me. "I suppose you're pleased that you got your boy."
I smile, nodding and reaching out to touch Timmy's dark hair, smoothing it some.
"Guess I owe Knox Marshall again," Steve murmurs. I stare at him.
"It's not a competition," I say. "Knox was just doing his job."
"Uh huh." Steve doesn't add any more, but I'm getting a sinking feeling inside. I hope Steve isn't gonna start acting weird and jealous towards Knox. He has no reason to. I'm sure Knox would have done the same for anyone. Not just me.

SteveI don't want to sound disrespectful in regards to Knox. I am grateful that he was there and that Lex and Timmy are all right. I can't say for certain I would have handled everything as calmly as Knox did.
Still...I kinda feel a little weird about it. Especially since Lex was acting like Knox rescued her from a burning building or something equally heroic.
I realize how I sound: like a jealous jackass. I guess if I'm being honest, I am jealous. Jealous that Knox Marshall ended up being the hero instead of me.

"You should have warned us," Mom tells me on the phone later that evening. Damn. I'm exhausted. Today was crazy. Mom's referring to Knox, of course."I would have," I say. "Except I didn't know he'd be stopping by."
"It's unnatural," Mom says.
"I wouldn't say that," I say. "Lots of people resemble each other and aren't related."
"In this case," Mom says. "I think it's unnatural." She has a point. It is kinda unnatural, given that Knox Marshall chose to look the way he does.
But then again, I've heard stories of ordinary people paying big bucks to look they're favorite celebrities. This isn't all that far off from that.
To Knox Marshall, Tim was his hero and a celebrity. I know Tim would have disagreed, though.
"Lex really likes him," I say to Mom.
"Naturally," Mom says. "He looks like the man she was engaged to."
"It's more than that," I tell Mom. "Lex genuinely enjoys being around him."
"I'd be careful about that, Stevie," Mom murmurs.
"Mom, I've already expressed my concerns to Lex. I can't force her to do anything."
"Well." Mom sounds miffed. "I'd still make sure that Lex watches herself around that Knox fellow. He could be trouble."
"No shit," I mutter.

Lex is asleep and so is Timmy. Shari had taken Ari home with her. Dave, Cass and Aaron had left hours ago, glad that Lex and Timmy would be fine.
