Thus, amidst the teasing and shared laughter, the three friends continued their walk, their friendship strengthened by every moment, even the most insignificant.

Haerin stood in front of the mirror, observing her reflection with a mix of determination and apprehension. She felt like an actress in a play where every movement, every word, would be scrutinized and judged by a demanding audience. But she couldn't afford to show her vulnerability. She had to embody the strength and dignity expected of a princess.

Yet, behind this facade of confidence, Haerin felt a tumult of conflicting emotions. Guilt weighed heavily on her for disobeying her father, for defying the norms and expectations that came with being a member of the royal family. But at the same time, she felt a deep conviction that her decision was the right one, that saving Minji was worth all the risks.

She remembered the grateful look in Minji's eyes when she had interrupted the trial, the glimmer of hope as she realized she had someone fighting for her. It was this glimmer of hope that continued to burn within Haerin, even in moments of doubt and despair.

Haerin shook her head to dispel these turbulent thoughts. She needed to focus on the task at hand tonight: impressing the guests at the ball, easing the tensions with her father, and perhaps even finding a way to protect Minji from any further repercussions.

She let her attendants help her into her gown, slipping into the sumptuous fabric with natural grace. But even in this elegant attire, she felt trapped, stifled by the expectations and responsibilities weighing on her.

"You're beautiful, Haerin," Danielle said as she entered Haerin's room.

"Thank you, Danielle. You look stunning as well," Haerin replied with a gentle smile, appreciating Danielle's comforting presence.

Danielle approached and placed a gentle hand on Haerin's shoulder. "Come on, Haerin. I know it's going to be complicated, but you'll succeed. You've always been strong."

Haerin sighed lightly, her thoughts still heavy with doubts. "I know, but it's going to be a long night," she said, turning her gaze to the window. The moon was full and bright, illuminating the night landscape with a silver glow. The stars twinkled, adding a touch of magic to the night, but it did little to ease her worries.

Minutes passed slowly as Haerin and Danielle stood side by side, silent, each lost in their own thoughts. The ball was about to begin.

Danielle broke the silence. "You know, Haerin, you did the right thing by defending Minji. No matter what your father thinks, you followed your heart. And that's what makes you exceptional."

Haerin smiled faintly, grateful for Danielle's friendship and support. "Thank you, Danielle. Your words mean a lot to me. I really hope tonight goes well, for the sake of our kingdom."

With one last glance at the moon, Haerin straightened up, determined to face the evening with courage. "Let's go. The ball awaits."

The two friends left the room and descended the palace stairs, heading towards the grand ballroom. As they approached the entrance, they could hear the soft murmur of conversations and the distant sound of music. Guests were already arriving, dressed in their finest attire.

Suddenly, a familiar voice broke through the festive hum. "Princess Haerin."

Haerin and Danielle turned to see a cloaked female figure. Danielle instinctively stepped in front of Haerin, adopting a protective stance.
