as long as it takes

Stephanie's pov

I've been thinking a lot and realized that Chloe wasn't the one I wanted to be with. I really wanted to be with Sadie and I'm positive she wants to be with me.

I planned on talking to her in class tomorrow but first I had to talk to Chloe. I arrived at her dorm room door and knocked on it. She opened it after a few seconds.

"Hi, Steph. Did we have a date today?" Chloe asked as she glanced at her watch.

"Um, no. I just wanted to talk." I replied.

"Wanna come in?" Chloe offered.

"I think it's best I stay out here." I said and she furrowed her eyebrows. "I had a lot of fun on our date the other night but I... I think I like someone else."

Chloe slightly smiled. "I know."

"You know?" I asked.

"Yeah. I walked passed David yesterday on the field and I heard the two of you talking about it on the phone." Chloe admitted.

I slightly widened my eyes. "Oh. Did you by any chance hear who I liked?"

Chloe shook her head 'no' and I let out a sigh of relief. I knew how much trouble Sadie would get in if the school found out she was fooling around with a student.

"I'm sorry." I apologized.

"Don't worry about it. I'm just glad you told me now and not when we're in a 2 year relationship." Chloe chuckled. "Even if I was just your distraction I'm glad I got to know you a little bit."

"Me too." I smiled.

"Friends?" Chloe asked.

I nodded. "Friends."

The second I walked into Sadie's classroom she called me over to her desk. I walked over to her and she gave me a small smile. She stood up from her chair and my eyes trailed up and down her body. How does she always look so hot?

"This is a long shot but I was wondering if you would want to be my TA again?" Sadie asked me. "I really miss hanging out with you. Plus it does look good on your resume."

I smiled. "I'd love too. I miss hanging out with you too. You wanna talk after class?"

"Sure." Sadie nodded.

After class Sadie and I started talking about possible upcoming assignments. She was sitting in her chair and I was sitting on the edge of her desk with my laptop in my lap.

"I bet you'll be happy to know that I ended things with Chloe." I told Sadie.

She was trying not to smile and I could tell. "Did you now?"

"I did." I put my computer down on the desk and looked at her.

"How come? Date didn't go well?" Sadie asked.

"No, the date was perfect. It was the person I was with that felt wrong." I told her. "I like you, Sadie. So much."

Sadie smiled. "I like you too, Steph. And I really do want to be with you but we can't be together while you're my student. I could get in so much trouble and I really need this job."

"I understand." I told her the truth.

"I don't mind waiting if you don't." Sadie said.

"Of course I don't mind waiting. I'll wait as long as it takes, Sadie." I replied.
