"Another dead end. Get on my shoulders so you can look over."

"Damn it, Kabru... You're right."

Once again, his scolding never came. You kept anticipating his reaction toward your cursing to the point that you were practically goading him.

But Kabru got down on one knee and helped you get situated on his shoulders.

It was so painfully ironic to find yourself propped up on your partner's shoulders peering over the wall ledge only to see the same never-ending maze all over again. Were the Gods truly this petty? Perhaps, but you could be much pettier.

You groaned, "We might have gone in a circle."

Kabru's voice was flat, "We're at a dead end, going in a circle is impossible."

"It's a figure of speech," You snapped back with the same tone.

Venturing back into the maze had the same effect as jumping into a freezing lake. You and Kabru decided to double down and leave the trial rooms right after quite literally having to peel yourself off him.

As of now, you were far from whatever spell of arousal you were under. Kabru, you assumed, was the same.

You didn't even want to think back to what happened during the fifth trial, yet your thoughts continued to pinpoint the exact moment his hands slipped under your tunic. How he made you think that you were melting into a puddle. How he let you pin him to the chair and seemingly use his lap for your own amusement - satisfaction, maybe.

What would have happened if we were given more time...?

You did your best to disrupt your pervy fantasies with thoughts of food instead. Your stomach croaked once more and you whimpered.

"Hey, don't make this weird."

You gasped in disbelief, "It's not me making this weird, it's you...!"

"Ow, hey!" He barked back when you tugged on his hair as you started to tip over.

Getting down from his shoulders did not go as gracefully as the last time.

Interestingly enough, when both of you left, the doors to the Ten Trial were not locked behind you. Initially, you were relieved that you and Kabru didn't need to go through all those trials again. But it only made you more curious about the functionality of it all.

Focusing back on the task at hand, it was true that you guys went out of the Ten Trial to try out the eternal maze. And despite being a maze that seemingly went on forever, there was nothing interesting to even comment on. No traps, no other adventurers, not even monsters.

But at every turn, you ran into the same entrance to the trials. It seemed like the enchanted door was following you around and making its presence known whenever both of you were lost or stopping to take a break. The door loomed within the shadows.
