You were... surprised by the room you just entered.
It resembled a regular bedroom, much like the rooms offered in taverns and inns (hey, the floors are clean!). What a contrast. The last few trial rooms nearly looked like dungeon rooms, but this was surely a nice change of scenery. Literally speaking, there was a wardrobe, a desk, a coffee table, a couch... and a neatly made bed.
You successfully suppressed the awkward grin creeping up your face.
"Wow." Kabru's astonishment was obvious as he surveyed the room. He paused, "Why is there a bed in here?"
Alas, you couldn't stop yourself from cringing at his words. Perhaps both of you were thinking the same thing? It was hard to tell exactly since the young man was already turning toward you with a concerned expression.
He pointed to the empty space of the room, "And why are there carpets on the floor?"
You partially snickered at his tense tone, "They're yoga mats, Kabru. Your inexperience is showing." You began to whisper to yourself, "By the way, why are there yoga mats here...?"
Kabru mirrored your attitude, "So, you're saying you have more experience?"
"Exactly." You saw something flicker in his eyes. "With yoga. It helps with regulating my mana." You added quickly.
"Mhm..." With a slow nod, Kabru stepped around aimlessly. "So, this trial probably wants us to do some yoga? What are your thoughts, [Y/N]?"
"It might be more tolerable than the last five trials."
The last five trials flashed in your head and you grew restless once again.
Similarly, Kabru stepped away to seemingly study the rest of the room. What you didn't see was how the adventurer raised his hand to his face to run his nervous fingers along his lips, his cheeks warming up.
You stared at the locked door at the end of the room. Similarly to the other trials, there was a stone plaque on the wall with small writing on it. Next to it, five small circles (similar to bulbs) in a panel. You took the liberty to close in on the wall, reading the words out loud.
"The next five trials will be completed in this room."
There was already a warm feeling pooling in your stomach, the ambiguity made you quite nervous. Kabru was also treading warily, half occupied with taking in his surroundings and half studying you from the corner of his eye. He was checking to see if you were still up for whatever task was going to be thrown at you guys.
"Additionally, sex is prohibited."
You wanted to drop dead right here, right now. You were speechless, gobsmacked, albeit croaking with shock at the bluntness of those words. Kabru stifled a soft cry, the cringe manifested into physical pain. He simply clutched his chest and sank to crouch with his knees.
"This is good, clarity is good," You told yourself, almost chanting. "Setting boundaries is good... we would never do something like that, right?"
Kabru remained curled up, speaking into his arms, "To set such a rule... The Ten Trial must have anticipated that from what happened back in Trial Five..."
"Don't tell me the magic can sense... Oh Gods..." Your terrified groaning resembled the defeated cry of a lamb. Curse the Mad Mage and curse this whole Trial. Curse the Dungeon!
"Does the duo accept these conditions?"
You were the first to turn to him, a forced sober expression on your face, "Promise me we'll still be friends after this..."
