Lane barged into Pietro's room to find, as she expected, Pietro and Loki sitting with backs against the headboard of the bed and lounging as they chatted with Wanda who had pulled an armchair near the end of the bed.
"Why are there literally zero bangable guys in this city?" She flopped onto the foot of the bed, tossing her phone with the useless dating app still open. It had been almost two weeks since she'd helped Matt and had that weirdly charged exchange with Steve in the hall. Every training session after that had had a similar feeling which was frustrating her ways that, unfortunately, her vibrator had been unable to relieve. The worst part? She'd tried dispelling the feeling anytime she crossed paths with the Captain. Jabs, jokes, any chance to correct or poke fun at him but none of it helped. In fact it seemed to be doing the opposite. His usual stoic and stern responses had all but faded away, replaced with hidden smiles and amused sighs. They had gone from battling wills to trading gentle, teasing blows and she was beginning to like it almost a much as she'd like the Dom version she'd caught a glimpse of. If it had been anyone else, almost any other person on the planet, she'd just make a move. But it was Captain fucking America, if he didn't flat out turn her down it would never be the casual hook up she'd want. So, she was searching for a suitable proxy to take the edge off.
"Are you saying I'm not bangable," Pietro asked as he tossed his hands up, bringing Lane back to the present moment.
She turned her head in time to see Wanda snatch up her phone and start scrolling.
"Bangable guys that I can actually bang."
Pietro leaned forward. "I don't believe we ever took the possibility of us off the table."
Lane watched Loki snake a hand under Pietro's chin, making the speedster face him. "You have now, darling."
Pietro blushed and Lane groaned. "Why can't I find someone to lustily glare at me like that?"
Loki leaned back pulling Pietro against his chest and running slender fingers through silver hair. "If I recall correctly my lusty glares were directed at both of you when I arrived."
Lane rolled onto her side, propping her head on a hand to look at the sickeningly sweet duo. They were almost worse than Nat and Bucky. "Yeah but then I got detention with the Captain and speed racer beat me to the punch."
Pietro stuck his tongue out at her.
"Luckily for you I'm not against group activities."
"Can we please avoid sex life talks when both twins are in the room," Wanda asked, eyes still locked on the screen in her hand as she gave a small shudder.
Tempting as the idea was Pietro and Loki were actually good together as a genuine couple. In the few short weeks since the Asgardians' arrival they had slipped into such an easy routine it was almost like they'd been together for years and Lane had no desire to throw herself into that mix. It was a lot of emotion she didn't want to get anywhere near as she wasn't interested in anything more than something quick and dirty.
"I appreciate the offer," she sat up and scooted to the edge of the bed after patting Pietro's leg. "But I think the two of us at once might just make this one's head explode."
"Okay," Wanda cut in before her brother could argue. "Changing the subject. What about this one?" She handed the phone back to Lane. "He seems nice."
"I'm not looking for nice, sweet cheeks." Lane took the phone and scanned the profile Wanda had selected and her brow rose as she swiped though the photos. "But I think I can make this one work."
She stood and her eyes never left the screen as she opened the messaging option, planting a kiss on Wanda's cheek before she made to exit the room. "You're a gem!"
