" But Elena, it's cheer camp! "

Elena rolled her eyes as she watched her twin sister stomp her feet on the ground. It was something she did as a child when she was upset and never really grew out of it. Being a little bratty was part of her character. It's what really set them apart.

" Sienna, I don't want to go... "

Instead of stomping her feet, she crossed her arms and wrinkled her nose. Elena sighed. An argument between sisters was about to insue.

" You can't just sit on the couch all summer writing in your pajamas. It's not healthy, Lena. "

Elena sighed. Sienna was right, even when she was wrong, she somehow made herself right. A fierce trait that led her into being team captain on the cheer team along with any other clubs she was associated with. Her fierce gaze felt like it was burning through her as she waited for a suitable answer.

" One summer. It's all I ask for. "

" What about mom? She wanted us to do this and follow in her footsteps. Or did you just forget about her? " Sienna snapped.

That was all it took. The mention of their deceased mother. The night turned the three Gilbert siblings into orphans. The night that no one was a part of besides Elena herself. Sienna wasn't there, and neither was Jeremy. He had been home, and Sienna continued to party after the football game. She didn't even show up to the hospital at a decent time she was so unbelievably sloshed.

" Trust me, Sienna, I didn't forget. I can't, which is why you should just leave me alone. "

The twin softened. " I just don't want you to lose sight of things you care about. Like poor Matt. "

" I told you I'll talk to him eventually... "

" What about Bonnie! Hello!? She's your best friend and you haven't even called her! "

" I text her sometimes. " Elena winced.

Sienna sighed while moving her hair behind her ear. She looked up at the clock and winced at the time. She was going to be late to school to catch the bus for camp. It did not really look good on her reputation as captain.

" Look, I have to go. I love you, but after this summer, no more mopping. " Sienna voice turned into a softer whisper. " You know they'd hate to see you like this. And we both know Jeremy needs a role model right now. Aunt Jenna is trying, but she's young and in mourning too. Her sister died. I couldn't imagine if you had-  "

The two girls looked at each other for a moment before leaving into each other's arms. They may fight, but they've shared the same womb. At the end of the day, it was them against the world.

" Just give me till August, Si. When school starts, I'll do better. "

" Till school starts. " Sienna smiled then hurried out to most likely to speed to school.
