<Sophie's POV>

"Hey Fitz, what are you doing here..?" I ask him.
While he's holding my arm, I feel Keefe tensing up beside me.
As a matter of fact, I realise they haven't been talking so much recently.
Keefe said they needed some time to themselves.

"I came to talk to you for a while, y'know, just catch up a little bit. Wasn't really counting on you having company.." he replies, cooly eyeing Keefe.

"Hi Fitz, I'll just uh leave now, shall I? Since it's just a friendly friend catch-up.." Keefe says, kissing my cheek and squeezing my hand.

"What?! I mean.. are you sure, Keefe? It's raining really hard outside.." I widen my eyes and give him a look.

"I'll just come round tomorrow,'kay? My dad wants me to practice empath exercises with him anyway. See you tomorrow Sophie, bye Fitz," he grimaces and leaps away.

The awkwardness that's left behind is thick in the air. I realise we're still at the door.
"Do you wanna.. come in?" I tape on a forced grin and gesture to the spacious living room behind me.

"Oh okay, yeah, sure," he walks in and takes a seat on a plush armchair.

"So what brings you to my humble abode today, Fitz?" I ask, plopping down onto the chair across him.

"Well, you know, I wanted to make it to you, Sophie. Hear me out: First of all, I know that you and Keefe are.. ahem.. dating.. but listen. I want you to know that I don't care about the matchmaking list anymore. I just care about the girl I'm getting. I know I have been a terrible friend and, in the past, a terrible boyfriend, in terms of support and understanding. I.. also wanna make it up to you by explaining myself and.. yeah,"he looks at me, with his handsome teal eyes.

"Wow, I.. okay. Thank you, Fitz. I'm touched," I say, genuinely.

" Oh, and before I forget, I brought you this," he pulls out the parcels, which are wrapped in shiny teal paper and a silver bow.
Suddenly, my favourite colour, ice blue, doesn't seem as appealing as the shimmering teal paper that wraps my gift.

"Thanks, Fitz," I say as he hands the present to me.

I untie the bow and peel the wrapping away carefully to find my gift.

I let out a soft gasp.

He got me an apology package that consists of a premium pen set made of moonlark feathers, a thick teal journal with the Ruewen crest, and a jewellery set with blue and green gems encrusted into them. There's also a sphere of light that has a 3D image of me and Silveny inside. It flashes in different colours and sparkles as bright as the stars. And lastly I found a long letter.

I pick it up, and it says:

Dearest Sophie,

I know I haven't been the greatest person in your life recently, and I really want to change that. I miss you, your laughter, your presence, your eyes, your voice, and your burning fire of a personality.

Sophie, you have been my light, rock, and friend (maybe more than that at one point) that I could rely on for the past year. When I felt like I had no one, you were my someone.

In short, I miss you so so so sooo much, Sophie! I can't live without you, I can't sleep at night, I feel lonely, I feel neglected, and sombre. I can't survive knowing that
I can't have you!

I don't want to be the bad guy, but I already made that mark in your mind as the guy who wouldn't accept "you for you." I admit to my mistakes, and I know that I was wrong.

I love you Sophie and I can't deny it, please give me one more chance, and if you don't, I'm going to visit you often and make it up to you, I won't stop until I succeed I promise you.

Sincerely,

Your friend, Fitz.

At the bottom of the note is a moonlark charm and dragon charm that looks exactly like Mr. Snuggles.

I smile, and I feel myself blushing. My mouth forms the words 'thank you', but when I look up, he's gone.
