This was the longest June had ever been... aware? Awake? They felt that something was happening in between memory gaps but they had no clue what. Either way, they were bored. It had been 3 days since their talk with Tony Stark and he was true to his word. He even got the Avengers to call them June. They could tell he was concern about them. About Peter more likely.
June was laying on their bed, bored. What do people do with their time? Their stomach growled. Right, people have to eat. They weren't used to being... human.
June got up from their bed and started walking out of their room. Before they left, they made sure to take their pill. They aren't sure where it comes from but it makes them feel funny and they like it. As they make their way to the elevator, they run into Steve Rodgers.
"Hey uh" Steve says, plausing to think. "June?"
"Yep?" They mumble sleepily.
Steve looked down at the kid. "Are you feeling alright?"
June was confused by the question. "I'm alright, of course I'm alright. Why wouldn't I be alright? Do I not look alright?"
Before June could ramble on more, Steve stopped them. "Relax, I just thought you sound-- tired. Like you were sick -- something"
With that June sighed and walked past Steve Rodgers, stumbling a bit. Steve just thought that's what teens acted like nowadays and shrugged it off.
June looked around the elevator for buttons. What floor was the kitchen again?
"Mr. ----, what floor would you like?" The ai questioned.
It took a minute for June's brain to register someone was talking to them. They didn't like being called Mr.
"Oh, yeah um kitchen?" They said, pushing aside the Mr thing.
"Floo- 62" The ai spoke.
After a few seconds the elevator dinged and the doors opened. June stepped out of it and felt like they were being blinded. They squinted as they try to make out what was happening. What was in these pills?
June pressed forward, trying to ignore the light and get to the kitchen. By the time they get there, they don't feel hungry anymore. What was the point then? Right before they turned to leave, they get stopped by Natasha Romanoff who was in the fridge.
"Hey June, ---- the right time" She said with a half smile on her face, the words getting lost in June's brain. "I'm making ---- treat, you wanna help?"
June agrees even though they think it might be a bad idea for them to cook when they can barely see. As they walk over to Natasha Romanoff, they stumble. She obviously sees that and rushes over.
"Hey, are you alright?" A far away voice asked as they felt a hand on their forehead. "Jesus chrsit, ---- burning up"
"What are you talking about? I'm alright. Of course I'm alright May, just leave me be" June says as they try to push Natasha off of them. "I'm not weak"
Natasha looked at June with genuine surprise. "June" She blinked. "May's gone"
"Who's May?"
"Your aunt? The ---- care of you?" She pointed out the obvious.
June thought for a moment. They didn't have many memories but the one that stood out was... Oh god.
"W-wait" Peter slurred out. "Aunt May's dead?"
Peter nearly fell to the ground, bawling his eyes out. Natasha grabbed him and let him cry on her shoulder. It hadn't really hit him that she was gone. Sure, he knew but he didn't really understand. It hadn't clicked until now due to him putting off thinking about anything personal normally with drugs or being spiderman.
He was such a good kid what happened?
"Peter"
"Peter"
"Peter!" Aunt May called "it's time to get up, Peter!"
Peter woke up on the couch in the living room of the Avenger's tower. He couldn't see all the way, the room was way too bright. In the brightness, he heard a voice.
"June, what happened?" Mr. Stark questioned in a almost panicked manner. "Why were ---- crying?"
"I-" Peter was trying to process everything. Why was everything so bright? Was it his spider stuff? Or.... that? Why was Mr. Stark calling him June? Who is June? One question at a time, Peter!
"Can you turn the lights down a bit, spider senses and all" Peter asked.
In an instant the lights were dimed making Peter actually be able to see.
"Sorry" Mr. Stark mumbled. "Are you alright, June?"
"I'm fine, but I'm not June" Peter said confused. Had they caught on to the drugs?
"Peter?" Mr. Stark questioned, trying not to sound too hopeful as to not hurt who ever June's feelings.
"Yeah, who else would I be?" He stated as if it was as obvious to Mr. Stark as it was to him.
Mr. Stark stared at him, not with anger but with worry and confusion. After a few moments he broke the silence.
"You have ---- session today" He sighed. "Please tell her about this"
