"Fuuuck", I hissed quietly while trying to save the trumpet case from falling with one foot. I just pulled a rather heavy crate full of stuff out of Max' car trunk and was struggling with trying to think what to do now. Suddenly a warm hand wrapped around mine, immediatly taking some of the weight off it.

"Mevrouw", Joost said. I looked up and returned his soft smile. He wore a cap with his whiteblonde hair sticking out in every direction. Im remembered how hot he looked last night on that balcony, drunk but kind of mischievous. Right now the sun hit his face just right, softening his features, making him look innocent enough.

"Thanks", I replied and handed him the crate, quickly picking up the trumpet case. "You always seem to have the right timing, huh?"

"You're lucky I even remember, I was so done as soon as I went back to that couch." Joost laughed and I remember seeing him after I went back inside. Some people already had left and Max also got ready to leave for our hotel. And Joost was sleeping on one of the couches, he laid on his back, arms and legs sprawled over the armrests. His shirt was slightly pushed up and his happy trail was showing. Obviously the alcohol and weed mix has kicked in.

"Is that your standard excuse for forgetting a girls name?", I quickly asked to distract from the fact that I was staring again. I squeezed past Joost onto the sidewalk and walked into the open door of the block.

"Ey, I did'nt forget your name!", I heard him say in a mix of hurt pride and amusement. "I even knew your name before, I'm actually sure all of us do."

"Oh, no I really don't think that", I laughed out of nervousness. I had a youtube channel but I only posted clips of some music I mixed or played for literally like 110 subscribers. Other than that I was sometimes mentioned in the credits of other peoples music, but who cared for that. I knew that Max talked a lot but I still hoped he did not tell Joost and the others much about me. "But I obviously know you. I really liked your performance at Pukkelpop last year."

Joost just caught up to me while we walked down a hallway in the cellar and I noticed how his eyes widened in true happiness. "I love hearing that, keep it coming", he said. "I'm so pumped for this project man." I knew from Max' stories that Joost was very passionate for making music and it definitly showed. His success spoke for itself, but he still valued sticking around a studio for a month with some random people.

We entered a door at the end of the hallway and Joost was immediatly greeted by Tantu and Stuntje. The studio was essentially one huge room with all the tech needed as well as a few couches. A second smaller room had a small fridge, a microwave and some other kitchen appliances and another room included a full bathroom with a tub-shower combination. It was not that fancy but fitted a grungy hip hop vibe. I already liked it. The best part: there was some sort of patio with a really cute lounge area outside, directly attached to the big studio room.

It took us 3 hours to settle in and get to know everybody a bit. The outside area was rather big and Stuntje and Apson decided to have a barbecue this evening, so they went to get everything we needed. In the meantime the rest of us watched Tantu showing us some beats and already talking about a few ideas to work on. Now the sun had already start to set and Apson and Stuntje started grilling, Tantu watching them. I was also outside, on the couch rolling a joint, when Max and Joost sat down next to me.

"My timing stays good", Joost said grinning as I lit up the joint. Everyone had a beer when we were inside so the evening was much slower than the party yesterday. I did not mind that but both of us, Joost an I, acted very different than yesterday. He was really nice and did talk to me now and then but it was clear that last evening we were both a bit too high and wasted. Even though I liked that a lot.

I just smiled and lightly shook my head. "I swear, you have to watch out with smoking too much [Y/N]", Max said, beer in his hand. I did know that he was somehow right, but I was also struggling to take him seriously, saying that with a beer in hand. "I know, maybe everyone should watch their own addictions, right?", I replied with an annoyed glance in my eyes.

"Where are you staying?" Max changed the topic and had turned to Joost again. They chatted about a certain block where Tantu and Joost booked the airbnb where yesterdays party was. They would stay there for the whole month and that probably was not the last party. Apson and Stuntje stayed somewhere with their girlfriends.

"No, [Y/N] wanted to stay here, I am staying with a friend", Max said to Joost, who just asked where everybody was staying.

"You stay here?", Joost asked kinda shocked and turned to me. I nodded and took a drag before handing the joint to him. I was not able to afford a hotel or airbnb at the moment, so I decided to just stay here, the couches were comfortable enough and I even had a full bathroom and small kitchen. "You really can not stay here man, that's not very save."
