Mason and Julia are packing up their apartment ready to move into the Capwell mansion after C. C.'s death. Mason, now the Capwell patriarch, takes over the reins of the family and Capwell & Capwell Industries.
"I'm going to miss this place," Mason adds in a somber tone.
Julia is lost in thought as she reflects on Lionel and Augusta, her sister and brother in law, who passed away a few months before C. C. and doesn't answer him.

"Julia? Is anything wrong?" Mason asks her when she doesn't answer.
"What? Oh, sorry, I was just remembering Lionel and Augusta."
"Yes, it does feel weird not to have the Lockridges around anymore?"
"Especially Minx! How she was a spitfire!"
"Well, it's just us now!" Mason adds as he toasts to the ones they've lost. "To C. C., Lionel, Augusta, and Minx. May we make them proud?"

As Mason and Julia head out of the apartment, and start a new beginning at the Capwell mansion, Cruz Castillo finds his way back to his old digs where he is reunited with his son, Chip, now a detective at the Santa Barbara Police Department.
