<Sophie's POV>

I lay awake that night wondering why.
Why did Keefe question my loyalty to him. Does he trust me?

The thoughts keep bothering me, and don't go away. I hear Sandor outside, back from a long day off with Grizel. I smile, I'm glad Sandor has time to himself after everything that's happened. He told me that if after two years of nothing happening to me, he might get married to Grizel.

Keefe recommended the groove that we kissed into Sandor, and I can see that it's very well used.

The nice thoughts of love eventually take over my worries, and I fall asleep.

The next morning, I awake to a primal and loud screech- Gildie. I look outside and see her tending to her chicks. The adorable trio of chicks in the nest are more mischievous than they look.

When brought up on Havenfield, the little animals are raised to be kind yet somehow always ending up cheeky.

I pet Iggy's head and head downstairs.

Grady and Edaline left a note on the table:

Darling Sophie, we have gone to collect a herd of wild dinosaurs that have been destroying some human areas. Breakfast is on the table, and I'll be back later.

Love, Grady and Edaline

P.S: We invited Keefe over for lunch :)

I smile and pocket the note. Grabbing a butterblast, I run back upstairs to take a shower and change. Flori is waiting outside my door.

"Hey, Flori! What's good?" I eagerly greet my favourite gnome.

"Good morning, Mistress Della dropped of a CLOSETLOAD of clothes, and Mistress Edaline said to wait for you to bring them in," she chuckles and gestures to the pile of wrapped clothes that I just noticed.

I groan, but smile and help her and another gnome to bring them into my room.

I sort through the gowns, summer dresses, lace, frills, taffeta... gosh, no..
The only things I found to wear are a pair of knee-high metallic boots and a red leather tunic.

I stash the majority of them at the back of my closet and drop Della a thank you message on my imparter.

I then take a looong hooot shower and flush all my worries down the drain.

After showering, I yank on my new tunic and boots. I let Vertina style my hair into a half twisted updo. She almost convinces me to put on makeup and a hair barrette, but I decide it's too much.

When I get back down, I see Grady, covered in dinosaur feathers, and washing mud off his hands.

"Hi, dad. How's the dinosaurs settling in?" I giggle at his state.

"Weeeeelllll they are ONE rowdy bunch," he sighs with a smile.

"Hahahaha, as usual. Where's Edaline?" I ask, looking around.

"Oh, she got it worse than me," he gestures to his mud and feathers, " So she's taking a shower,"

"I see. How come you invited Keefe to lunch? Like so early in the morning, it's the first thing you do?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Oh, I invited him yesterday," he explains

"Okay.. I see he's growing on you," I grin slyly

"Heck yeah.." he replies sheepishly.

"Grady, maybe you should also clean up," I suggest

"Yup, I should," he gingerly pulls out a long brown string from inside his shirt and gags.

"EWW, WHAT IS THAT?" I laugh

"Just remind me never to go dinosaur rounding when it's just me and Edaline." He shakes his head and heads up for a bath.

Bored, I decided to visit Silveny in the pastures. I see her rolling down the hill and her shiny coat turning green.

I laugh and almost join her, but remember that I just showered. So instead, I collect panakes petals with Wynn and Luna.

Life on Havenfield is a rollercoaster. It's a good thing I live animals and don't mind getting my hands dirty.
