FURY'S DEATH

It's been a couple of days since the mission and Steve has been on edge, so much so that today he actually went to SHIELD's headquarters to talk to Fury about Natasha having a separate mission that he didn't know about. I offered to go with him and show some support but he said he felt like it'd be better if he went alone, so while he went to talk to Fury I decided it'd be a good idea to go out and get some fresh air, maybe even see the city.

So far I hadn't seen much but I'd bought a pretty good coffee, I was thinking about going to a nearby park so I was currently walking to it as I enjoyed my drink. The day was pretty normal, if anything kind of boring, but I was enjoying my alone time.

I turned left and almost ran into someone that was too busy looking at their phone, but I managed to stop so the person wouldn't hit me and it caused my drink to spill a little. I tried not to let it get to me.

"I'm really sorry." It was a young boy, and for the record he did look genuinely sorry. I take a breath before answering.

"It's okay. Just pay more attention." I say. Just then I see the boy's eyes slightly widen.

"Hey! You're the Avenger girl!" He says, and causes me to chuckle. He didn't speak too loudly, but it felt like someone might have heard him.

"Yes, I am. I'm Aillie, nice to meet you." I say.

"Thanks! I'm Billy." He smiles and so do I. I thought he might say something else but seeing as he didn't and it was getting kind of awkward I decided it'd be a good idea to say goodbye.

"It was nice to meet you Billy, I should probably get going though." I say, smiling so I wouldn't come off as rude.

"Yeah, me too. Bye Aillie girl!" He says and we both start going our separate ways. It had been a nice little encounter but something felt off. It felt like I was being watched, much like how it felt a few years back when I was in Russia and Natasha had been following me.

I stop abruptly in the middle of the road and turn around, frantically looking around hoping to find whoever it is that was watching me. But I couldn't find no one looking at me. Sure there were tons of people but everyone seemed to be doing their thing.

Must have been just my perception, I guess.

Feeling a little embarrassed I turn around and keep on walking to the park.

That night Steve had decided he wanted to cook something, since most times we had just been getting take out, and so he was currently chopping some vegetables while I stirred the ones that were already cooking in the pan.

"So what was your plan then? For when you graduated." Steve asked me. I had been telling him about the wizarding world for the last few days, and today we were talking about school and the careers you could choose.

"I guess I was following the Auror's path." I shrug. "To be honest I don't think I ever really thought about it seriously, I always knew I didn't have to work since I had a good inheritance."

"Real modest." He chuckles. "But there must have been something you liked doing, you're a smart girl but even Tony studied something." I think about it for a second before I shrug again.

"I don't know." I admit. "It's just, I grew up knowing I was meant to be the second in command to Voldemort's army, nothing else really mattered to me." I had already told him the general idea of the war and my role in it, but I hadn't yet gone fully into detail. "I knew I was meant to marry into a pureblood family, have pureblood children and help Voldemort rule. My whole life was written for me since the second I was born."
