Rummaging through his Eomma's drawers, Sungyeol finally found her red purse where she kept her money. He fished out enough money to spend for that day and placed it back inside the drawer. He glanced back at his mother who was sleeping peacefully on her bed and smiled sheepishly. He decided to ditch school and hang out with the guys to play pool.
As he was about to leave, he felt a hard tug on the collar of his shirt and heard a slight ripping sound. The hole where he cut the shirt tag off got bigger. He turned his head and found his mother glaring at him. She's even scarier without make up...
"Where do you think you're going, smartass? You better be using that money to go to school... Or else I'll be cutting your allowance for the rest of the week!' She warned him and he sighed heavily as he shut his eyes tightly. "Eomma... Why would I do that to you? I know you've been working so hard and all you think about is my future. Am I not a good son to you?" He suddenly put his puppy dog eyes on and his mother shook her head. "I will never fall for that again, Lee Sungyeol! I'm going to call your good friend Myung Soo to make sure that you get your butt inside the university!" She gets up and reaches her handphone to call her son's best friend.
Thirty minutes later, the doorbell rang and Sungyeol ran quickly to answer the door. As he unlocked the door, he saw Myung Soo looking the same as he did, though there seemed to be something different about him. Sungyeol looked at Myung Soo and curiously looked at him from head to foot as he tried to figure out what was off. Myung Soo came in and greeted Sungyeol's mom. "Annyeonghaseyo, Mrs. Lee. I've come to pick up Sungyeol. I borrowed my Dad's car so it wouldn't be a problem to get to school on time." He assured Mrs. Lee and held out a bag of freshly baked croissants he got from his mother's bake shop. "I thought you would like to eat croissants for breakfast so I asked my mother to pack some for you and Sungyeol."
"Aigoo, such a wonderful boy you are! If only my Sungyeol could be more affectionate like you then I wouldn't be worrying so much! Thank you, dear. Now, I feel so much better! Yah, Sung Yeol! Be home by eight o' clock tonight for dinner! Or else..."
"Arasseoyo, Eomma. You don't have to remind me. Come on, pretty boy, let's go!" He put his arm around his best friend and Myung Soo just gave him a smirk. They got in the car and as Myung Soo turned the ignition on, Sungyeol looked at his friend suspiciously. Myung Soo found it uncomfortable and started to talk.
"What the hell is wrong with you? What's with the weird look on your face? I know, I'm too handsome for my own good." He laughed and Sungyeol pretended to gag at what he said.
"I hate you, you know that right? Well, I can't shake off this feeling that there's something going on that you're not telling me. Spill it, Kim Myung Soo or die!" Sungyeol warned and his friend couldn't help but chuckle.
"Eh, don't get your panties in a bunch. There's nothing going on. I'm just happy today, that's all..." He tried to focus on the road and turned on the music. Sungyeol couldn't put his finger on it but he was sure there was something fishy about his friend. Finally, it dawned on him and he became furious.
"Don't tell me that you're dating a girl? Aw, shit, you broke your promise!"
"Yah, wait a minute, what are you talking about? I am not dating anyone!" Myung Soo protested and Sungyeol gestured at his clothes.
"Then why the hell do you look so different today? You look all clean and shit. Like you're going to meet a girl!"
"So you just assume that I cleaned up because a girl was going to meet me? Damn, Sungyeol, you can really piss me off sometimes. I'm not dating anyone..." He answered quietly.
"Why is your voice trailing off? You're not dating but you DO like someone! Aishhh..." Sung Yeol stared at his friend accusingly and pounded his fist on the glove compartment. The compartment was forced open by the pounding and out came pieces of paper that caught Sungyeol's attention. He picked them up and took a closer look. "What are these? Movie tickets? Concert tickets? What the hell! These were from last month!"
