New scrolled down on his phone, having just finished a FaceTime call with their son, Gemini. They chatted about university life and various updates—a weekly routine ever since Gemini moved into his dorm. But this particular call left New with questions.

"Te," New called out to his husband.

Tay hummed in reply, glancing up from his phone. "Yeah?"

"Isn't it strange that Gem mentioned his friend Fourth twenty-seven times during our call tonight?"

Tay raised an eyebrow. "No? You're the strange one, counting how often our son talks about his friend." He chuckled.

New shook his head, moving closer to Tay in bed. "Gem isn't usually this chatty about Fourth. Do you think he might have a crush on his friend?"

Tay playfully pinched New's cheek. "I don't know, and only Gem can answer that. Although he once mentioned admiring someone."

"Did he tell you who?" New prodded.

"No, and why are you so nosy? Let our son enjoy the thrill of having a crush without anyone prying." Tay grinned and resumed scrolling on his phone.

"Te, I have an idea." Tay set his phone aside, intrigued. "This upcoming long weekend, let's ask Gem to come home and bring Fourth along." Mischief sparkled in New's eyes, and Tay found it endearing and let out a small laugh. "Hey, don't laugh! Our son might thank me someday! Plus, I want to meet this friend of his. Seems like Fourth has a good influence on Gem. Oh, and can you be the one to tell him? Please?"

Tay met New's pleading gaze and the adorable pout that always melted his heart. "Okay," he relented. "Should I tell him now or wait until tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow morning is perfect. Thanks, Te." New leaned in for a kiss. "Love you."

Gemini's voice crackled through the phone, making Tay wince and hold it slightly away from his ear. "What? You want me to come home with Fourth this weekend? Why? Why is this so sudden?"

Tay leaned back on the sofa, glancing at New, who sat there expectantly. "Look, son," Tay began, "your Pa and I talked last night. We just want to meet the friend you trust."

On the other end of the line, there was a thoughtful pause. Tay imagined Gemini squinting as he considered the situation. "Is this some kind of trap? You guys weren't like this with my high school friends."

Tay bit his lip, searching for more reasons to convince Gem. "Well, your high school friends are practically our neighbors. We see them all the time. But Fourth—we want to meet him."

"Why only Fourth? I have other friends too."

"Because you mention him all the time. Isn't he your best friend at this point?"

"Oh."

Tay smirked, catching New's eye. The glint in New's gaze mirrored his mischief. "Did he agree?" New mouthed silently. Tay signaled him to wait.

"Okay, I guess I'll tell Fourth then."

"Great! Your Pa and I are looking forward to it. Remind him to bring clothes. And don't even think about making excuses—your Pa won't be pleased if you do."

"Okay, okay. I'll try to convince him." Gemini's voice held a mix of resignation and amusement.

Truth be told, as the weekend approached, Gem arrived at his parents' doorstep, with Fourth trailing behind him. Before announcing their presence, Gem glanced back at Fourth, who struggled with a heavy bag of clothes. "Why did you bring so many clothes?" Gem teased, helping his friend set down the burden. "And remember what I told you—my parents can be a bit weird, quirky. They might bombard you with a million questions the moment you step inside."
