Will was sat in the breakroom of Chiagco Med with his eyes closed as he waited for the coffee to brew in the corner. He groaned when he heard the door open, allowing his eyes to open, relaxing when he saw it was just his husband.

"Hey baby" Connor whispered, sitting beside Will and pulling the younger man into his side

"Hi Con" Will mumbled

"I need you awake beautiful, we need to go to the 21st" Connor said gently

"Why?" Will yawned

"Jay's been taken from your dads care again, and Hank has put an order for him to come to us" Connor said, running a hand through Will's red hair

"What for this time?" Will asked quietly

"Selling and buying drugs within the household, we gotta get that boy out of that house, he's a baby still" Connor said

"Fuck sake, ok, let me get my coat" Will sighed, standing up and walking over to his locker to grab his coat

Connor watched the younger man, smiling sympathetically, also standing and taking Wills hand as the two walked out of the hospital towards their truck.

"Did Hank let you speak to Jay?" Will asked

"Yea, he's pretty upset, your dad beat him up pretty bad before he was arrested" Connor admitted

"I thought he was ok, I thought dad had cleaned himself up" Will said quietly

"He'll be ok once we get him home, get him fed and properly loved" Connor said softly, reaching out to take Wills hand and squeezing it gently

"I should have gotten him out sooner, he's been living in hell" Will sighed

"You've got him now, make it right" Connor said softly, putting the car in park outside the 21st district

Will only nodded, unbuckling his seatbelt and climbing out of the car, waiting for Connor and grabbing his hand so that they could walk into the district together.

"Hi Trudy, here to collect my brother" Will said softly to the desk sergeant, he looked up to the Desk Sergeant who often had to go collect Jay when their father was drunk or high on narcotics

"He's upstairs with Antonio, pretty shaken up" the older woman said softly

"Thanks Trudy" Will smiled, walking away towards the door that separated Intelligence from the general 21st District

"I'm right here with you babe" Connor whispered, guiding his husband to the gate that buzzed open and allowed the men in to the Intelligence Unit bull pen

"Will, please this way" Hank said, his voice rough yet soothing

Will's grip on Connors hand tightened as they followed the older Sergeant into the break room where Detective Antonio Dawson sat, speaking quietly to a trembling figure on the sofa. Jay was wearing a big hoodie which Will recognised as Connors medical hoodie that he had stolen from the older man the last time he had stayed at their house.

"Hey little brother" Will said gently, walking over to the small Halstead who sobbed as he threw his body at his older brother

"Has he eaten?" Connor asked quietly, watching the two brothers

"No, refused to, do you want Antonio and I to leave so you two can try again?" Hank asked, handing Connor a sandwich and a pack of crisps

"Yea, I think it might be a good idea, can we take him home?" Connor asked, taking the ham sandwich and plain crisps from the older Sergeant

"Of course, we don't need a statement from him today, we can get it when he is ready" Hank smiled

Connor walked closer to the brothers, Jay was now fast asleep with his face hidden in Will's chest, his face red and tear streaked but other than that the child looked calm and safe; the closing of the door made Will look up and the older doctor was heart broken to see that his husband had tears in his eyes.

"He's so light Con, I can feel his ribs" Will sniffled, tightening his hold on Jay

"He's been abused for years baby, but for now let's get him home, washed and properly fed" Connor said, placing the sandwich and crisps on the table and gently taking Jay's body into his own arms

"Connor" a small voice whispered

"Hi little man, ready to go home?" Connor asked softly, pressing a kiss to Jay's forehead

"No, no, don't make me go back to that house, please Connor" Jay cried, holding onto Connor tighter in fear of being sent back to his dad

"Little man, you're coming with Will and I, you're never going back to that house" Connor soothed

Will moved closer to his husband, wrapping his arms around the mans front to add a slight pressure to Jay who was now sobbing softly, but with the help of the two men they managed to get him calmed down.

"Let's get out of here, we will get you something warm to eat and a nice bath" Will said to his little brother
