Connor held Will close as he sobbed, the red haired man had been helping a man who had been brought in for drunken disorderly, when the man had suddenly flipped out had shoved Will out of the way. The smaller doctor had fallen into a treatment trolley, his head slamming hard against the metal handle, which was when Connor had appeared and held Will close as he checked for broken skin.

"It's ok Mi Amor, just a bump" Connor soothed, gently running his hands through Wills hair

"I want Jay" Will cried, gripping Connors scrubs tightly

"I'll ring him, let's go somewhere more private so you can calm down" Connor soothed, guiding his boyfriend over to the breakroom where the pair would be in a more private setting

"I didn't even see him get up, my head hurts" Will mumbled, stumbling over to the sofa and sitting down with a whimper

"I bet it does, hold this to your head while I ring Jay" Connor whispered, handing Will an already broken ice pack to place on the back of his head

"I want my brother" Will muttered, leaning into Connor as the older man dialled the older Halstead's phone

"I'm ringing him baby, shush" Connor soothed, pulling his boyfriend in close

The call connected, but it was a shock for Connor when instead of the older Halstead answering the phone, it was the husband of Jay, Hank Voight who answered the phone.

"Connor" Hank spoke, his voice quiet but still rough

"Can I speak to Jay?" Connor asked

"He's asleep Connor, I had to take him home, got a migraine" Hank said, he was sat in his living room watching Jay who was curled up under a thick blanket

"Ah shit, Will got shoved by a patient, he wants his brother" Connor sighed, he knew the older Halstead suffered from migraines which was an after effect from a brain injury jury he had gotten from his time in the military

"You could bring him here, Jay always feels better once he's near his brother" Hank offered

"We're on our way, need any medication for Jay?" Connor asked, pulling Will onto his feet

"Some more sick bowls if possible, he's extremely nauseous and as much as I love him, I don't want my cooking bowls to remind me of this" Hank requested, standing as Jay started to wake up

"I'll grab some, and I'll also stop and get some gatorade for him too" Connor said, before he hung up

"Jay?" Will questioned

"He has a migraine, so he's not feeling too good, but we're going to go home, think maybe you'll be able to make each other feel better" Connor smiled, taking Wills hand and walking out of the break room together

"Are you ok Will?" Maggie asked softly, approaching the couple with a worried smile

"He's fine, think the shove frightened him, I'm taking him home" Connor said, he looked at his boyfriend who was standing next to him, his eyes unfocused

"That's fine, take a few days off if need be" Maggie smiled, patting Will on the back gently

"Jay?" Will questioned, looking at his boyfriend

"We're going to him baby, see you in a bit Maggie" Connor smiled, taking Will's hand once again and guiding him towards the exit

"He came outta nowhere, just like dad" Will mumbled as he climed into the car, and it broke Connor's heart hearing that statement

Jay and Will had been abused from a young age by their father; being the youngest, Will had suffered more, especially after their mother died as Pat had blamed the younger for it happening, even though it was cancer which had led to her death.

When Jay had left for thr army at 18, it grew ten times worse for Will who had been 14 at the time, constantly belitted, forever being shoved, kicked, punched and even bitten a few times. The red head still had many scars over his body from those years, and many sleepless nights.

"It wasn't your dad though baby, remember he's in prison" Connor said gently, reaching for Will's trembling hand and squeezing it gently

"I want my brother" Will sniffled

"Nearly there, you're being so brave" Connor whispered, starting the truck and reversing out of the hospital car park

Will only sniffled, wiping his eyes messily to try and rid them of the tears that were growing, he hated how vulnerable his upbringing had left him. The power of the shove that the patient had used had thrown him back in time to when his father had shoved him down the stairs, breaking his arm and dislocating his shoulder.

His brother had been 19 at the time and had come home from the military for a small
holiday, and had drove him to the hospital, and had begged the attendant doctor to release his brother to him instead of his father; Jay had had custody of Will since that night.

"We're home baby" Connor said gently

"Jay?" Will mumbled, eyes slowly opening to take in his surroundings

"He's inside baby boy, come on, out you get" Connor smiled, helping his boyfriend out of the car and holding his hand tightly as they walked up the oathway to the small house they shared with Jay and Hank

Will shuffled into the house, the adrenaline that had flushed through his body leaving him disorientated and he could feel the bump on his head pounding. He wanted his older brother to make it feel better, especially since right now be was flicking between the present and past truama.

"Hey" Hank said, stopping Will from entering the living room

"I want my brother" Will whimpered, trying to get past Hanks larger body

"I know, but just a second, you need to take your shoes off and your scrubs" Hank soothed, helping the younger Halstead take off his scrub top and then kneeling down to untie his laces

"Jay" Will mumbled, stepping out of his shoes and stumbling to his older brothers figure which was curled up on the sofa under a blanket

Will threw himself gently onto the sofa, curling up next to his older brother who awoke with a start, without speaking Jay pulled Will closer and wrapped his arms around the smaller man.

"Sleep" Jay croaked, eyes closing and his breathing evening out

"How long has he been sleeping?" Connor asked, following Hank into the kitchen

"I took him home about four hours ago, he was asleep at work for a bit too" Hank said, flicking the switxh so that he could boil the kettle

"Did something bring it on?" Connor asked, opening the fridge and grabbing the milk for Hank

"I think it's the fact he's been struggling yo sleep the last few nights, the exhaustion caught up on him" Hank sighed, handing Connor the cup that had his coffee in

"He's gone 2 months without one that has been bad enough that you've needed to bring him home though, so I guess it's a little win" Connor smiled

"What happened with Will?" Hank asked, leabing against the kitchen counter and sipping his own coffee

"A patient shoved him into a treatment trolley, and he banged his head pretty hard, think it scared him and then pushed memories from before to the front of his mind" Connor sighed

The two men stood and spoke for a while, their moment together interrupted as they heard soft sobs coming from the living room. Hank placed his cup down and rushed out, recognising the sobs as his own husbands, grabbing one of the sick bowls from Connot as he did.

"Hank" Jay sobbed, clutching at his head while looking through tearful eyes

"It's ok little love, just breathe, Will can you move over for me please" Hank asked softly, Will nodded and scrambled into Connors arms watching as his older brother sobbed from the pain in his head

"He just woke up suddenly" Will mumbled into Connors chest

"I know baby, he's got a migraine so probably feeling a little sick, how's your head feeling?" Connor whispered, wincing as Jay started to gag before throwing up violently into the bowl that had been thrusted in front of him

"Better, Jay always makes it better" Will smiled
