"Remember Seungkwan, it's on our pride. This win is important."
Jeonghan patted the back of the highschooler, the one who just nodded, determined as his eyes traced the length he was supposed to cross before anyone.
This race, this was on his ego.
Not only his, this race was on his Homeroom teacher, Yoon Jeonghan's ego as well. It might haven't been a life and death bet, but it indeed was an do or die one. This was it, If they won this race, they'll get the first price for school's annual sports celebration.
Though the trophy sitting there was alluring, but still, it wasn't as alluring as getting to watch the defeated faces of class B. Those losers were full of themselves, mainly because the last time, this trophy was in their hand.
Seungkwan swore on his deceased Grandmother this time he was gonna bring it back to his class.
He looked up in the field, the track starting to be empty as people got out for the next race. The participants were already taking there positions, and their mentors- their homeroom teacher to be exact, were standing beside them, giving the few last words of encouragement before the races start.
His mentor was too standing behind him, patting his back as he encouraged him once again, "There aren't many people who will be able to compete you, but still, there are few you need to be careful during the race. You know who right?"
Well, Seungkwan knew it more better than anyone. That was literally his sworn enemy, the class B's stupid spoilt boy, the main reason Seungkwan wanted to give his everything to this race.
Jeonghan on the other hand grabbed him by his shoulders, shaking him a little, "Remember all the time he looked down on you because of your height, or remember when he made fun of your marks? The time he called your cooking skills shit? Or the one where he almost got you kicked out from drama club? Remember all that Seungkwan? Don't you want revenge? Don't you want him to feel that all? That you feel?"
Seungkwan gritted his teeth in annoyance.
He would literally do anything, literally anything to watch that expression of defeat on his enemy's face. He will win this race, by hook or by crook!
Jeonghan patted his shoulders for the last time, the race going to be started soon, "You also have my reputation in your hand Seungkwan. Remember, i believe you. Do your best!"
Mr. Yoon was soon gone, and it just Seungkwan along with his fellow participants on the track. And as the whistle started, Seungkwan ran, he ran like he practiced, like he was told, like his life depended on it.
He could see nothing beside that finishing point. After two rounds or so, his breath started becoming unstable. He was used to this thing though, losing your breath was completely normal in a race, and he was in front as well, so it wasn't much of a probelm.
Until it was.
Someone had left him behind, and that someone was no one other than the class B's spoilt brat, Seungkwan's mortal enemy,
Chwe Hansol Vernon.
The tall stupid boy Seungkwan loathed from all his might.
He was leaving him behind, and since Seungkwan could see the finishing line of their last lap, he panicked, his pace staggering back a little.
Fuck, chwe Hansol would win it!
Seungkwan's mind shorts circuited for a second. Ofcourse, this had to happen, Boo seungkwan's life was nothing less than a variety show. How can he even be determined to win a race without the dramatic plot coming in his life?
