"I still believe my child will never do something as that." Eunseo's mom says, and Jeonghan silently stares at the coffee in his hands. There was nothing to be said, was there? More than often, when things like these happens, parents are the one in the most disbelief towards it, cause apparently, they know their child can't do anything like that.
"Sometimes," Jeonghan hesitates, but still decides to choose his words wisely as the couple looked at him with expections. But he couldn't, cause everything that he thought about turned out to be sounding more wrong than before.
They didn't need consolation, Jeonghan knew that very well. No consolation can pay for the price of their daughter's life. Everything that Jeonghan chooses to say was not really worth it anyway.
"I am sorry." He settles on saying instead, his hands keeping the coffee back on the table as he lightly smiled at the couple in front, "I am really sorry for the loss."
"It's not your fault teacher Yoon." Her father says, and suddenly it became unbearable for Jeonghan to breath anymore. He didn't know why, but his heart heavied suddenly while watching the lady in front give him a small smile.
It looked so painful. Jeonghan couldn't even imagine the amount of suffering that they were going through, and yet they were putting up a smile for him to know that they were doing fine.
"Can I request you for something?" Jeonghan asks, and the couple looks at eachother before nodding. The teacher takes a deep breath, hoping this was gonna ease up the heaviness of his chest, "Please, do not hesitate to call me if you need anything."
The couple suddenly chuckled.
And Jeonghan had this sudden urge to defend himself, all panicking and scared as he tried not to make this more offending that he guessed it already was for the couple, "Please don't get me wrong, I am not saying this out of pity or something. I am not trying to offend you as well. I am just saying, you can think of me as your son and reach out for me when you are in problem. I genuinely, genuinely want to help you if I can. I will feel more than happy-"
"It's alright Teacher Yoon." The lady in front laughed lightly, probably thinking of Jeonghan as nothing but a stupid fool. But the teacher couldn't care about it. He was just revived his request wasn't interpreted in wrong way.
"Teacher Choi and you, both of you are same."
Jeonghan at first nodded, his mind set to agree with anything that the couple says but when the words finally settled inside his brain, his brows frowned.
Now where the fuck Choi seungcheol came from?
"I am sorry, but what?" He asks, and the lady in front lightly scoffs, smiling genuinely for the first time at Jeonghan's wide eyes and comical gestures, "Well, you might not know this teacher Yoon but Teacher Choi came to visit us even before you."
Jeonghan now was officially stupified. "He came?!"
"Yes, he did." He lady replies, the smile never leaving from her face, "And he sat on the same place as you, said the same words that you were saying, and then panicked in the same way you did. You both are so alike, I just thought it was kind of funny."
Alike? Them? Now Jeonghan was offended.
"I personally think the only thing alike about us is our height Mrs. Oh." Jeonghan says sarcastically as he lifts up his coffee and sips on it, and Mrs. Oh laughs this time, "I am glad I know about the famous rivalry of Pledis High. Eunseo used to tell me about literally everything, and I bet at this point, I can count on my fingers about all those time you scammed Mr. Choi."
"I didn't scam him." Jeonghan keeps the cup back on the table, more than offended than before, "He scams me!"
"Do not lie Mr. Yoon." Eunseo's father says, and Jeonghan's frown deepened, "So he came first and made me a villain? Such a Choi Seungcheol thing to do."
