"Did you see that mam? he was totally into you, I am saying you" said Lora who was enthralled in the conversation with Anna in her office.

"Stop the cap, Lora, nothing is going on between us. And don't call me mam, call me Anna, saying this for the 100th time"

"Stop being anti-romantic Anna for one second and just imagine how great you both would look together"

Anna gave a deadly serious look at Lora, that she wasn't enjoying it at all.

"Alright, I will get off your tail, I was just saying you know"

As Lora left Anna's office, Lora overheard workers talking about the THING that happened in the meeting.

"I kinda feel like Mr. Washington is simping over on our boss" said one of the worker

"I do feel the same, the way he was staring at her, was so obvious don't you think?" replied another

Yeah same pinch man, but we all know our boss has no room for romance in her life" added making the workers giggle since it was a bitter truth.

"Elizabeth bring the paperwork for our new project with Green Land Company ASAP," yelled Lora just to stop them from making rumors about their boss.

Hearing Lora's voice, the whole floor turned pin-drop silence.

 As she came into her cabin, Mary Croft who was Lora's closest colleague at work, stepped in.

"Hey, you busy?"

"Do I look like I am?" said Lora in a sarcastic way

"Care to spill some tea about what happened in the MEETING?"

"Girl not you asking this, I got a lot of work to do now"

"Lora don't act like you are busy, I know how serious you are at work, but you do know how badly we want our boss to get into a THING"

"What thing?" asked Lora acting as if she had no idea what Mary meant.

"Man, never mind I am off"

"Alright have a great day"

"Bro you seriously going to let me go?"

"Wait, I didn't say you to leave, you by yourself decided to leave"

"Wait so are you going to spill the beans or?"

"Na, I am good" said Lora flipping a page just to act busy in front of Mary to make her quit forcing her to spill it out.

"Alright boss's favorite pet, I will leave you, but I'm not done with you. I will come back" Saying this, Mary left Lora's office.

Lora grunted as she too had the urge to talk about it just as how others wanted, but she did not want unnecessary rumors to spread. She thought for herself it was better to shut her mouth and be safe than be sorry later.

After some time passed by, it was finally another hour more to go

Anna got home fast, had a wash, and wore a black formal outfit thinking Edward called her for something official.

 LA DELIGHT CAFE

Anna arrived on time, as she had the habit of being punctual.

"I guess this time too, he would be late as usual" scoffed Anna looking around having zero expectations of Edward being here.

To her delight, she caught him sitting at the counter in a black shirt, sipping a cup of coffee and reading a magazine related to business.

"He has no punctuality at work, but for this, he had come on time," said Anna walking towards him.

"Oh hey Anna, never expected you to be on time, have a seat."

"Hey Edward, I am always on time when it comes to business,"

Hearing this Edward couldn't deny or say anything against what she said, so he took a call secretly to Micheal who was in the car, to bring up some projects so that he could spend some time with Anna. Even if it's related to business.

He cut the call and waited till Micheal arrived, just to avoid the silent air, Edward called the waiter and ordered a cheesecake for him and a brownie for Anna, while Anna ordered a hot chocolate for herself.

"Black suits on you" Edward complimented Anna.

"Thanks, Mr. Wash- I mean Edward. So what are the projects we are talking about"

"Um so how about we wait till the works come, so I can briefly explain everything," said Edward who was astonished at how Anna was persistent when it comes to work.

"Alright," said Anna looking at the lighting that was newly decorated in the cafe.

"Ambitious, that much? This is quite interesting" Edward said to himself in his mind.

"Alright, so how about we introduce ourselves and get to know ourselves in the meantime until Micheal arrives" said Edward trying his best to explore Anna and her interests.

Not even a second passed by,  Micheal arrived with the project details that Edward wanted to collaborate with Anna's company. At the same time, the waiter came to their table placing the hot chocolate and the desserts on the table, and left with a smile.

Anna was all ears as Edward enthusiastically explained the project he had been mulling over for quite some time. She was genuinely excited about the prospect of working with Woods Edge Technology and was more than happy to partner with the Washington Company. After Edward wrapped up his explanation, Anna eagerly delved into the details of his work, while Edward found himself lost in admiration of Anna's lovely chestnut brown hair, tied back in a ponytail, and her intense, deep brown eyes which added an air of fierceness and seriousness to her expression breaking the boundaries of how Edward falling harder on her.

"I like your work, it's brief and very well done. My team will visit your company tomorrow to discuss it more," said Anna looking up at Edward breaking his thoughts out.

"Yes, alright it's a pleasure having you working with us, looking forward to meet you tomorrow"

 "I'm sorry but I won't be coming tomorrow, but my assistant Lora will assist you if you have anything to clarify," said Anna who was sipping the hot chocolate one last time.

Edward felt disappointed upon hearing this.

After bidding goodbye, they both went home in separate directions. Edward instructed one of his men to follow Anna and ensure her safety as she drove home alone.

When Anna reached her home, she phoned Lora to confirm the meeting scheduled for the next day.

When nighttime arrived, Edward lay in his bed, trying to recall the moment when he and Anna were at the cafe, speaking.

"Too cold to speak and get to know me, huh?"

"That's alright. I will make you mine, Anna Woods."

"I will tame the cold, ambitious woman into a woman who wants me too," said Edward, who then summoned one of his men to gain information about Anna.

"Soon you will be mine," said Edward, determined and so sure of himself.
