Waking up early, Edward got himself dressed and reached his office on time. He seemed pretty disappointed as Anna isnt coming for the meeting as he thought.

With all thoughts swirling in his mind, his assistant Michael appeared, breaking his train of thought.

"Here you go sir, your regular coffee," said Micheal who seemed pretty excited for the day.

"What with the happy face ?" asked Edward seeing the smile on Micheal's face.

"Um, nothing- is it that obvious?"

"Yeah, it's very OBVIOUS, is it a girl?" asked Edward, whose curiosity was insatiable.

"Alright, yeah it is a girl"

"And who is that lucky one? You better not say, it's Anna Woods"

"What? No, not her, it's..."

"WHO?"

"It is her assistant - Lora"

"Wait, you like her assistant?" asked Edward, utterly shocked.

"Yeah, so I heard she's coming to today's meeting. I'm pretty excited to meet her," he admitted.

"Sure, of course. I'm the only man here who's not lucky enough to meet the girl I like today," Edward replied with a hint of envy.

"Ms.Woods isn't attending today's meeting?" Michael asked, prying for details.

"No, she isn't, but that's alright. I'll come up with a plan to make sure I meet her soon. I don't take 'no' for an answer," said Edward with a playful, scheming smile.

As he finished speaking, a knock on the door interrupted. "Come in," Edward called out, gathering the papers for the meeting with the Woods Edge team.

"Sir, everyone is waiting for you in the board room," said a woman at the door, waiting patiently for Mr. Washington to rise from his seat.

Walking with Michael beside him to the boardroom, Edward glanced with utter surprise once he came into the room. Anna, who wasn't supposed to be there, was seated with her legs crossed, clad in a black blouse and a dark leather skirt, her hair cascading down.

"She's turning me on," Edward admitted, his mind suddenly ablaze with desire at how seductive Anna appeared to him.

"Anna, you came? I thought you said you wouldn't. What made you change your mind?" Edward asked, his face brightening with delight at Anna's unexpected presence.

"I wasn't in the mood yesterday to come for the meeting, but today I felt the desire to be here, so I came," Anna explained, appearing unsure if Mr. Washington was pleased by her arrival.

"I'm glad you're here, Anna," Edward said, his dark, charming eyes fixed on her hazel-brown gaze. Michael, sensing Edward's sudden temptation, snapped him out of it, bringing him back to reality. The people in the boardroom watched with a mix of curiosity and surprise, intrigued by the unspoken dynamics unfolding between Edward and Anna.

Clearing his throat, Edward took his seat and retrieved the papers containing the details of the project he and Anna had discussed at the café last night. As everyone scrutinized the work and began sharing their opinions, Edward noticed his assistant Michael gazing at Lora for an extended period. Swiftly, he kicked Michael's shoe to snap him out of his reverie and refocus on the task at hand before he gets noticed by any worker in the board room.

After the meeting concluded, Edward's phone rang urgently just as he reached to answer it. At that moment, Anna approached him with a smile. Without hesitation, he silenced the call and turned his full attention to Anna, captivated by her presence.

"I signed the papers, I would love to collaborate on this project with you."

Edward was much happier to hear these words from Anna.

"Glad to have you as my partner on this project. As per our agreed date, let's start the construction this coming Monday," Edward said, keeping his eyes fixed on Anna.

"I thought of celebrating this with a glass of champagne or maybe wine as partners on this project. What do you think?" asked Anna, clearly pleased with the business partnership with Mr. Washington, with her intentions far from love or romance.

Upon hearing this, Edward felt a surge of joy at being invited for a drink with the woman he loved. Her referring to them as "partners" sparked a vision in Edward's mind-a future where he and Anna could be more than just business collaborators, but life partners.

While this conversation between Anna and Edward going on, Micheal tries his luck to make his way to Lora. But looking at how Lora was engaged with the workers, he thought he might not get his chance to speak with her. After a while of waiting, finally, Lora was standing alone engaged in her phone. Having this witnessed, Micheal walked towards her and tried speaking to her

"Hey, I'm Michael, Mr. Washington's assistant. You must be Lora?" Michael said, trying not to sound awkward.

"Yes, I am. P.S. I do know who you are. I've seen you in past meetings with Ms. Woods," replied Lora, showing a hint of intrigue in continuing the conversation with Michael.

"Oh, so you have seen me. I thought I was invisible during the meetings, as I have nothing left to do but assist Mr. Washington," added Michael, seeming to enjoy the conversation with Lora.

Finding it amusing, Lora chuckled "Well, I noticed you the first time Mr. Washington and you came into the boardroom. While Ms. Woods's eyes were on Mr. Washington, mine were on you."

As Michael heard Lora's words, a warmth spread through him, a telltale sign of his growing attraction. Could it be that her interest in him ran deeper than he had first thought?

"You seem like someone I'd like to get to know better. How about we grab a drink after work?" Michael asked, his voice tinged with anticipation.

"I'd love that. How about 6 pm?" Lora replied with a smile that lit up the room.

"Done!" Michael exclaimed, feeling a rush of excitement at the idea of spending more time with her outside of work.
