"Who's afraid of little old me?"
You should be.

"Bhai, aren't you excited to meet bhabi today?" Vrishaan, who sat beside me in the passenger seat, asked as we drove towards the Bhatia house. Ashu and Veeransh were sitting in the backseat.
I glanced at him, my expression blank. "Not really," I replied, turning my attention back to the road.
"Why not? She's going to be your wife," Ashu chimed in from the backseat, I didn't reply to her, focusing on the road ahead.
After some time, Veeransh, Ashu's brother, broke the silence. "Bhai, Anvika bhabi is nice. She seems kind and gentle. I'm sure you'll grow to like her."
I glanced at Veeransh through the rearview mirror, raising an eyebrow. "You guys should have come with Hardik in Maa and Papa's car. You're too chatty just like him," I remarked dryly,
no wonder human presence always drains me more like vampires suck blood, these humans suck my energy. Even with Hardik not around right now, the chattering in this car is enough to make my head spin.
To reach Udaipur from Jaipur, it takes almost five hours if you're driving non-stop. We were more than halfway there, so it would take another one to one and a half hours of driving.
Maa and papa are coming with Hardik in their car, and Kaka-Kaki in theirs with daadi sa. Maa told me we are going there for some ritual, and our family and her family had to make an announcement too.
The chatter in the car continued as Shaan (Vrishaan), Ashu (ashmita), and veer (Veeransh) talked about various topics, I kept my focus on driving, occasionally nodding or grunting in response to their conversation.
We finally reached the Bhatia house. I quickly parked the car in the designated spot. I glanced out, seeing Hardik and Kaka also parking their cars. We all got out of our respective vehicles and gathered near the entrance of the house.
oh god! so many humans.
Noor's parents welcomed us and my family exchanged pleasantries. Noor's sister, Anvika, came forward to greet us as well. She looked nervous but smiled politely as she greeted maa, papa and daadi.
but my eyes were searching for her. noor. and she was nowhere to be seen.
I stepped out of the living room to take the call. It was one of my business associates, and I needed to attend to it urgently. The conversation was brief, mostly about some pending contracts and financial updates.
