Veronica's POV

I get up and walk to the door. When I open it, I was surprised to see my parents standing there, smiling.

“Mom, Dad! What a surprise!” I exclaim, trying to hide my apprehension.

“We thought we'd drop by and see how you’re doing,” Mom says, stepping inside.

“Hey, Mr. and Mrs. Oberoi,” Veer says with a polite nod, standing up.

“Veer! Good to see you,” Dad says, giving Veer a friendly pat on the back.

“Likewise,” Mom adds, smiling.

My heart sinks. Veer’s presence is making me feel even more nervous.

“We didn’t mean to interrupt anything,” Dad says, noticing the scattered papers on the coffee table.

I try to stay calm and composed. “We were just discussing our recent business trip. We went to the mountains to find a better fragrance of lavender for our perfume line, and we were discussing the samples and pictures we collected. Specifically, we were examining the various types of lavender we encountered and their potential for our new line of perfumes.”

“Ah, the lavender fragrance,” Mom says, looking intrigued. “That sounds exciting.”

“Yes,” Veer jumps in. “We’ve been searching for the perfect scent, and we believe we’ve found it. It has a soothing and refreshing aroma that we’re very excited about.”

“That’s great to hear,” Dad says approvingly. “We won’t stay long. We just wanted to see how you were doing.”

We all sit down, and the conversation shifts to more casual topics. I try to relax, though I’m still a bit flustered by their sudden appearance.

“So, how’s everything going besides work?” Mom asks, turning to me.

I glance at Veer before answering. “Everything’s good. Just trying to balance work and life.”

“Your child is a great partner, very dedicated and smart,” Veer says, smiling nervously.

“We’ve always known that,” Dad says proudly. “Good to see it in action.”

Before I can respond, there’s a loud crash from the kitchen. My heart skips a beat. What was that?

“I’ll go check it out,” I say, my voice a little shaky.

Veer stands up. “I’ll come with you.”

I grab his arm, stopping him. “Wait here.”

Rushing to my room, I quickly retrieve the gun I keep hidden in the closet. As I return, I see two men with guns entering the kitchen through the reflection in the mirror. My blood runs cold.

I grab his arm, stopping him. "Wait here."

Rushing to my room, I quickly retrieve the gun I keep hidden in the closet. As I return, I see two men with guns entering the kitchen through the reflection in the mirror. My blood runs cold.

"Veer, stay back," I whisper urgently, handing him the gun I retrieved.

His eyes widen in shock, but he nods, understanding the seriousness of the situation. We exchange a quick, silent communication - we have to protect ourselves and my parents.

With my gun in hand, I cautiously make my way to the kitchen , my heart pounding in my chest. The tension in the air is palpable as I prepare for the worst.

Peeking around the corner, I see the intruders rummaging through the drawers, their faces concealed behind masks. I take a deep breath, steadying my aim.

"Hands up!" I command, pointing the gun at them.

Startled, the intruders freeze, turning to face me with a mixture of surprise and hostility.

"The Devil sends his regards," one of them growls, his grip tightening around the gun.

"We're here to take care of some unfinished business," the other one sneers, his eyes flicking between me and Veer.

Without giving them a chance to speak, I immediately react. With a sudden movement, one of them lunges towards me, aiming to disarm me. Reacting swiftly, I dodge his attack and deliver a powerful punch to his abdomen, causing him to stagger back.

Meanwhile, Veer steps forward and swiftly disarms the closest assailant, pinning him to the ground.

With the intruders now subdued, the other one tries to make a move. I keep my gun trained on him, my heart racing with adrenaline.

"Stay down!" Veer orders, his voice steady and commanding.

The tension in the room is palpable as we wait for the situation to unfold. With the adrenaline still coursing through my veins, I know we need to act fast before things escalate further.

Just as the assailants make another attempt to overpower us, Veer and I fight back with swift and coordinated movements. Veer delivers a powerful kick to the assailant on the ground, while I engage in a fierce struggle with the other, landing a series of punches to his torso.

With a combination of martial arts skills and sheer determination, we overpower them, disarming them and rendering them powerless.

In a matter of moments, the tables have turned. The intruders lie subdued on the ground, defeated by our combined efforts. Veer and I share a brief but intense moment of relief, knowing that we have emerged victorious against the odds.

But the rage inside me boils over. I see the hatred in their eyes, the threat they posed to my loved ones. Without a second thought, I pull the trigger, ending their lives.

Veer's expression shifts from shock to horror as he witnes my actions. He wasn't expecting this from me, but deep down, he knows how relentless and determined I can be.

With the threat now eliminated, I turn to Veer, my hands still trembling from the adrenaline. His gaze meets mine, a mixture of fear and awe in his eyes. He knows that despite my calm exterior, there's a darkness within me that he's only just beginning to understand.

Together, we stand in the aftermath of the chaos we've just endured, the weight of what transpired settling heavily upon us.

After the fight, Veer and I make our way to where my parents are. The relief on their faces is evident as they see us unharmed, but the concern in their eyes tells me they've witnessed the aftermath of the confrontation.

"I'm sorry you had to see that," I say, trying to reassure them.

My mom rushes to me, embracing me tightly. "Are you both alright?" she asks, her voice trembling with emotion.

"We're okay, Mom," I assure her, returning her embrace. "It was a close call, but we managed to handle it."

My dad's expression is a mix of relief and pride as he looks at Veer and me. "You two were amazing," he says, his voice filled with admiration.

Veer nods, a modest smile playing on his lips. "We just did what we had to do."

But dad started staring me because he knows how darkness vanity and anger is filled inside me.

"What to do with the bodies?" Dad asked

We started moving towards there where the dead bodies of the invaders were left.

After seeing them for few minutes my mind goes to a point and I decided to..
