2x01: Under Pressure
"Mariana, if you don't hurry up we can't go to the Café" Veró yells to her sister. " Alright Alright I'm going," Mariana says as she tucks her LAFD shirt into her pants, "Are you going into the Café full uniform?" Mariana hints at her older sister in full LAPD uniform, "Yes I am, if you have a problem then you can get a car" responded verónica.
After getting their iced coffee since it had to be the hottest day in LA, the sister pair walked into the 118. "God it's hot as hell outside," Veró said
"You got that right" Captain Bobby Nash responded to her, " Heat makes people do crazy things, so expect crazy calls," Mari said to the two. Verónica had noticed that the older man who was like a father to the sisters, standing in front of them was cheery maybe too cheery, matter fact Sergeant Athena Grant and been extremely cheerful too. Perhaps both things were interconnected.
"Your cheerful Cap" Mariana told her captain, "why shouldn't I be Mari?"
"Maybe because you've been like this for weeks and it's starting to get on my nerves," Hen told Bobby, but before Bobby could respond, the 118s version of a Dalmatian walked in "I got another DXA scan today and guess who dropped another half percent" He proudly said to the group of four that now became a group six with buck and chim joining. "What's a DXA scan?" verónica asked in slight confusion looking at the firefighters in front of her, "A DXA scan measures your body fat. You can see the percentage in every part of your body" Buck replied to her
"Oh yeah? They measure the fat in your head" Chimney questioned making the group laugh. "Probably does he loses more brain cells every day" Mari laughed out, buck nudged her "Ah see that would be funny, but we're about a week away from submissions being due for the Hot days, smoldering nights: Men of the LAFD wall calendar, and I'm already at my goal weight, so it seems like my head is working perfectly" Buck gloated, the sister pair shook their heads at the way bucks priorities were twisted.
"Do you really need to use that whole title? You could just say that idiotic, reductive, sexist calendar that insults the dignity of this organization and furthers the myth that all firefighters are male" Mariana said with a sarcastic smile on her, verónica laughed as the 2 female firefighters fist bumped.
"Yeah, that's not less words" Buck spoke with a grin, Mariana along Hen rolled their eyes.
"C'mon Mari, Hen it's for charity," Bobby said to the 2 girls, "still doesn't make it any less sexist" Veró muttered "No Bobby not you too?" Hen questioned their captain with her hands on her hips. " well why not? They say a man is at his sexiest when he reaches 50" Bobby did a superhero prose with pride, "is that what they say? That's what they say?" Mariana questioned
"OK, you're both wrong. All right? You see I think sorority houses all across this great nation are ready for a new Asian sex symbol. It's our time" Chimney announces, eating his orange.
"I think it's great. You know? I like it you're both going up for it" Buck said "Oh, because you don't think we have a chance" Bobby asked in a questioning tone, eyebrow raised. "Whoa did I say that? I mean sure, let's be real. They are only picking a candidate from each station" Verónica noticed that Chimney was staring at something, so she followed his view of eyesight, and there was the most beautiful man she'd ever seen. "Fuck" Verónica said out loud, " That is a beautiful man" Chimney added. The rest of the crew looked at where the duo was looking at. "Where's the lie and I like girls" Hen jokingly said, making the sisters chuckle.
"Who's that?" Buck asked with a jealous tone. Verónica barely heard the question, she couldn't take her eyes off of him putting on his shirt. She moved her eyes to look at him in the eyes but to her surprise he was already looking at her, causing a light blush to appear on her cheeks. She felt a nudge "De verdad sigues viéndolo?"(seriously you're still looking at him) Marianna asked her older sister, and veró just smiled.
