Today is the day I leave city. This has been a huge decision as I'm only 19 years old and England isn't too far from my home in Dublin but Spain is a bit further away. I also have made so many friends here especially my dutchies Jill and Kerstin. I know I have promised to call them everyday but I'm still going to miss Jill's hugs and Kerstins laugh.
I wake up for the last time in my apartment in Manchester and go to make breakfast. I just get an apple because the nerves are making my stomach turn. We decided on having a team gathering at Jill's so it will be quite chill so I but on jeans and a t shirt.
I drive over to Jill's and get there early as her Kerstin and I decide to have a chat before everyone else arrives.
Jill: Y/n! Come in please. K! Y/N IS HERE GET DOWN
Kerstin:Y/n! How are you?
Y/n:Im okay K thanks just a bit nervous to leave you all.
Jill: I know but at least you'll have a tan next time we see you.
We all go to the living room to chill for a bit. Eventually everyone arrives and we have some snacks and watch a movie but I keep feeling like someone's eyes are on me but I try to ignore it. I end up giving in and turning around. It's Jill and Kerstin they are whispering and looking at me. I just give them a look and turn back to the movie. I need to pee so I go to the bathroom as one does and when I come out Jill and Kerstin are standing outside.
"Y/n, please tell us what's wrong" Jill says in a stern but comforting voice.
"Don't say nothing because we know something is up" Kerstin adds.
I sigh, "I'm not sure to be honest, I just don't know if this is right for me but I know it's what my dad would want but I can't help but question it"
"Oh meisje, he would be so proud of you and you are one of the best young players in the world right now so please don't hold yourself back" Jill replies
"But I don't speak Spanish and I don't know anyone there what if they don't like me"I say
"Y/n that's okay a lot of them speak English and Lucy and Keira are English so you can talk to them. They will all love you, if you just be yourself there is nothing they will dislike." Kerstin says pulling me into a tight hug.
"Yeah but I think Lucy already hates me because she hates Katie and every time we played England they would argue and I'd have to get involved because Katie was my girlfriend at the time."
Jill just looks at my sympathetically, "Y/n please just try to be positive and if you have any struggles you know you can always text or call us."
"Thanks Jildo I love you"
"Y/N! You know I hate when you call me that"Jill laughs.
"Sorry jildo" I say as Kerstin bursts out laughing
*Skip to the airport*
Here I am holding back tears saying my goodbyes.
Jill: I'm going to miss yup so much Y/n but remember I am only a text away.
Y/n: yes Jill I know and I will mis-
Kerstin: YEAH and if anyone has anything to say they will have a piece of me!
We all laugh at Kerstins comment until Jill whispers in my ear. "Try your best to keep doing what you're doing y/n I love you and if you need to talk to anyone let me know and I'll get it sorted.
And now I'm on the plane on my way to my new home.
