1.Invitation

It was late at night and I was sat at the Ninjago public Library studying in the dim light
I groaned as I closed the book, leaning against my chair
"there's absolutely no info here about my perants, ive practically searched EVERY library and archives in Ninjago and there's nothing" I glanced up and looked at the skylight noticing it had gotten dark out and probably close to closing time

I get up,picking up the mountain of books and scrolls I had collected and brought them with me to the front desk

"hello y/n, lemme guess, nothing again?"
My friend Leo asked me-he's the librarian of this place and with how often I've came here, it's a given we're on a first name basis at this point, He knows how I've been looking for any information about my perants and updates me whenever the library gets new books and scrolls in for me to check them for anything that might help my case
"nope, honestly at this point I'm convinced I just spawned into this world with how I can't find anything" I slump my head onto the main desk in defeat
He laughs as he grabs the scrolls and books I've been reading and place them into a cart to resort it later

"dont worry y/n I'm sure you'll find something eventually,say-why don't you go to the monestory and ask the sensei of the ninja? You said your mother was an elemental master like you so im sure He would be able to give you some sort of-"
"no."
"what? Why not?"
I stand up straight readjusting my blindfold
"i may not know anything about my perants but I do know one thing,he betrayed my perants in the anacondri war along with the elemental masters who followed him, no way in hell am i going to him" I say sternly as Leo puts hes hands up in defeat
"sheesh-alright, alright my bad"
I sigh and I give him an apologetic look, even tho he can't see it I'm sure he knows
"sorry I snapped-I guess I'm just really tired"
"hey no worries- you've been here all day reading so I don't doupt your tired, go rest up, ill text ya if we get anymore books or scrolls in tomorrow"  he gives me a soft smile which makes me blush, he's always been so caring and helpful towards me

"thanks Leo, ill cya tomorrow" I wave him goodbye as I start to make my way to the front door

I open the door and stand outside, breathing in the fresh night air, instantly relaxing me

'meow'

Huh?

I look down to see a black cat next to me, i bend down to pet it
"hey bud-where'd you come from?"
The cat purs at my touch but runs off behind the library through the side alleyway

"what the?" instantly curiosity took over me as I followed the cat
Yk what they say curiousity kills the cat- hopefully that's not the case tho...

Eventually I came to a stop,the cat jumped onto a shrine at the end of the alleyway and once I saw the pictures on the shrine I froze.
It was a picture of my perants.

I walked forward in caution-the cat sitting next to a fortune cookie that rests on a single plate next to sakura flowers

"what the fuck..." i softly spoke, inspecting the shrine, why the hell is there a shrine of my perants behind the library!?
And why is there a fortune cookie?

I reach down to the fortune cookie and crack it open, revealing a neatly hand written letter

How the hell did they manage to fit a letter in this small fortune cookie!?

I put aside the cookie remnants, the cat nibbling at it as if it were a treat as I read the letter

'Dear y/n Aurua, it is my pleasure to invite you to the Tournament of Elements. To enter we advise you to bring no weapons and tell no one as it is at upmost secrecy-As for what you will gain if you chose to participate...
Is the power you need to get your perants back.
Mr Chen looks  forward in seeing you shortly-'

The rest of the letter spoke about the location and time to meet

I stare at the invitation in shock..
"the power... I need-" i quoted the letter, repeating it in my head over and over again

The cat meows at me, looking into my eyes through my blindfold
"maybe I won't have to research anymore... Maybe this.. This.is what I need"

I fold the letter and put it into my pocket neatly as I walk towards the shrine and pick up the cat
"'c'mon bud,let's get you somewhere safer"
I stoke the cat as it purs

Tournament of Elements huh?
