Spark's POV:

I sat up in bed and looked at the clock on the wall, reading the time to be 3:23. I scanned my room and felt that something was off. I couldn't tell exactly it was, but I just had a feeling. I also felt my throat hurting, so I decided to go get a drink. I got out of bed and slowly made my way to my bedroom door and opened it slowly, trying not to make any noise. I stepped into the hallways and closed the door before tippawing down the hall and past both of my sisters rooms. I reached the living room and saw that everything was the same as it had been the day before. My throat still hurt so I walked over to the kitchen to get a drink. As I did, I heard pawsteps behind me and I whipped around to come face to face with Lavender.

"What are you doing?" I asked her, still very much angry at her from yesterday.

"I could say that same thing about you, hothead." She shot back, snarling.

"I'm getting a drink. My throat hurts."

"I. . . .am also getting a drink."

I gave my sister a questioning look. I proceeded to grab a cup and will it with water, Lavender doing the same. As I drank, I watched the Espeon closely. We both finished out drinks and turned to go back to our rooms when we heard a loud bang. We both froze, our ears perking up at the sound. Lavender's eyes widened in alarm, and for once, we silently agreed on one thing: Go investigate the source of the noise. The noise had come from the one room upstairs. Our parents' room.

"What was that?" Lavender whispered, her voice trembling.

"I don't know." I replied, my heart pounding. When I had felt that something was wrong, I guess I had been right. I wish I hadn't. "But we should check it out."

Lavender hesitated, then nodded. I was surprised to see my normally cocky and rude sister so scared. We crept up the stairs, trying to be as quiet as possible. As we reached the top and approached our parents' room, I noticed the door was ajar, a sliver of light spilling onto the landing. I pushed the door open, and we both gasped. The room was an absolute mess. Furniture was overturned, drawers were pulled out, and belongings were scattered everywhere. It looked like a tornado had torn through the place.

"What happened here?" Lavender whispered, her voice barely audible.

Before I could answer, we heard another set of pawsteps approaching us from behind. We turned to see Blossom standing in the doorway, her eyes wide with shock.

"What's going on?" She asked, her face and voice filled with concern.

"We don't know." I replied. "We just got here."

As we stood there, trying to make sense of the chaos, a figure emerged from the shadows. A Gallade. His white and green form contrasted sharply with the dark room around him. He stepped into the moonlight pouring through the open windows and crossed his arms. He looked at us with a calm, almost amused expression.

"You should leave." He said, his voice smooth and confident. "Before things get worse."

I felt a surge of anger and could feel my fur start to heat up. "Where are our parents?" I demanded. "What did you do to them?"

The Gallade chuckled, a sound that made my blood boil with anger but also sent a shiver down my spine. "You'll never see them again." He said, his eyes gleaming with malice.

Before I could react, he turned and leaped out one of the windows, disappearing into the night. Without thinking, I fired ember after him, but it missed, the ball of fire fading into the night.

"No!" I shouted, rushing to the window and staring out into the empty night. My fur was glowing with heat as I angrily searched the tree line. How could he just vanish like that?
