I felt a surge of warmth at his words. "I'd love to. Thank you."
A few days later, after Lorenzo was discharged, I found myself standing in front of the Mariano mansion. The grand mansion was imposing, yet somehow inviting. As I approached the entrance, two stern-looking guards stepped forward, their gazes scrutinizing me.
"State your business," one of them demanded, his tone firm.
"I'm here to see Lorenzo," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.
The guard exchanged a glance with his colleague before speaking into his earpiece. "Mr. Mariano, there's a Ms. Shivaleeka Singhania here to see you. Should we let her in?"
Moments later, Lorenzo appeared at the entrance, a warm smile lighting up his face. "Shivaleeka," he greeted, walking briskly towards me. "It's good to see you."
"Hi, Bhai," I replied, feeling a rush of relief at the sight of him. "How are you feeling?"
"Better, thanks to you," he said, his eyes full of gratitude. He then turned to the guards. "From now on, you let her in without any questions. She's family."
As we walked through the mansion's grand halls, Lorenzo chatted about his recovery and how grateful he was for my support. I felt a warm sense of belonging.
We entered a spacious living room where Vincenzo and Lucifer were seated, engaged in a light-hearted conversation. They both looked up as we entered.
"Shivaleeka," Vincenzo greeted with a nod, his authoritative demeanor softened by a genuine smile. "Welcome back."
"Thank you, Mr. Mariano," I replied, feeling more at ease.
Lucifer grinned, "Good to see you again."
"Likewise, Lucifer," I replied with a smile.
Lorenzo turned to me, "There are a few more people I'd like you to meet."
He led me down a corridor and into a large, cozy room where three young men were lounging. As soon as we entered, they all looked up.
"Guys, this is Shivaleeka," Lorenzo announced.
The first one, with strikingly handsome features and a relaxed demeanor, stood up and extended his hand. "I'm Leonardo. Lorenzo's told us a lot about you."
"All good things, I hope," I said, returning his smile.
"Of course," Leonardo replied with a wink.
The second one, who had an air of effortless cool and charm, smiled warmly. "I'm Matteo. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."
"The pleasure is mine, Matteo," I said, feeling a genuine connection forming already.
