You had finished doing everything necessary of you that day. There was probably more to do but each thing had set you off and you felt as though you were going to explode if one more customer stares at the same 3 products for 15 minutes. You stood up, gathering your minimal belongings and slung your satchel over your shoulder and faced the door, about to walk through it when,
"You're going?" Magnolia asked.
"I'm done," you replied, the context under interpretation. You couldn't sit there any longer, you felt drained, the cheerful voices of customers making you feel physically ill.
"Yeah but there's still-"
"I said i'm done," you don't know how you said it, you might have screamed it, might have whispered it, all you knew is you were halfway out the door when you noted the tears streaming down your cheeks, falling onto your shaking hands. you ran. you ran into the warm, soft, grassy meadows, you ran through the tall grass, you ran into the moss covered forest, down into the stream. That was where you started screaming. You screamed and you screamed and you screamed. Until everything stopped and you descended into sleep.
It was the best you'd slept since .. ever. Your voice was hoarse when you awoke. You let your eyes rest for a few seconds before they opened.
That's when you begun screaming again.
