"Welcome to Driftveil City Poké Center!" A brunet yells from behind the counter, hand coming to his brow as he swipes the sweat away. Harry could care less about him though, grasping tighter on what was confined in his hands. "What can I do to help you today?"

"Please, just make sure he's okay," Harry pleads, outstretching a tiny pokéball within his large hand.

The brunet has a look of shock on his face, astounding blue eyes widening before he nods. "He'll be fine, sir." The brunet promises, plucking the pokéball with a determined look and placing it within the machine. "Give him a few minutes to recoup," The boy says, flicking his wrist to the chairs set across from the healing center. "There are chairs over there, sir."

Harry nods lowly, feeling disappointed and more than anything lost without the weight of Dusty's pokéball on his belt as he sits down on the uncomfortable chair a few feet away, eying the metal contraption the slightly older boy works effortlessly. Surely it would fix Dusty up, but what if it didn't work?

He's shaken out of his reverie by a pat on his cheek. He flinches, turning towards the chair over to see a Pokémon waddling closer to him, with shining eyes and a little smile that stretches up to its speckled cheeks. The creature smiles and blows a little bubble when Harry pats him affectionately on the head.

"Zuko! Leave him alone, you creep!" The brunet nurse splutters out, dashing from his workplace and to the bubbling Pokémon giggling next to Harry. The boy picks up the Pokémon with a large grin, tickling him before he holds him tightly.

"It's fine," Harry assures the boy, whose hair sweeps delicately just over his long eyelashes. "What is he?" Harry asks, a small smile tugging on the corners of his lips.

"An Oshawott," The boy proudly remarks and his eyes begin to twinkle. "This is Zuko, y'know, like Danny Zuko? Say hi, troublemaker." The otter blubbers in his hands.

"I'm Louis, by the way, your Pokémon will be fine in a few moments." Louis promises before looking at Zuko with a pensive stare. "You, however, I don't know if you'll be fine." The Pokémon frowns and Louis lets out a breathy laugh as he snuggles Zuko closer.

Louis faces Harry with a sigh, ruefully shaking his head. "Only Pokémon I know of that willfully leaves his pokéball, it's so annoying."

"Seems like he just loves attention." Harry states and Louis nods, scratching the creature's head. "I'm Harry."

"Pleasure to meet you, Harry." Louis says, a cutesy grin coming to his thin lips. Zuko coos and spits out another bubble. "That's his way of saying hi too."

"Thank you," Harry says, eyes flittering back to the machine. "He'll be fine?"

"Yeah, 'course," Louis chirps, but the conciliatory remark does nothing to help the wishy-washy feeling Harry's got settling over him like a blanket. "I do this all the time, it's necessary to work here, you know. All of 'em turn out just fine."

Harry nods solemnly. "Okay."

"What's his name?" Louis asks, taking a seat next to him and tossing off the ridiculous hat.

"Dusty," Harry says proudly, because he could talk for days about his best friend. Him and the little guy have been through everything together, he couldn't imagine his life without the little creature skittering by or making silly faces at him across the table.

"Ahh, is he a ground-type Pokémon? Sandshrew or somethin'?" Louis ventures to guess and Harry shakes his head, smiling a bit.

"Not even close." Harry teases and Louis pouts.

"Well I figured from Dusty that-"

"It's fine," Harry consoles, placing a gentle hand on Louis' shoulder to stop the onslaught of rambling that he has a feeling is going to burst out of the boy. "I'll show you him after maybe? We could take a walk around?" Harry offers, suddenly quite nervous in the reaction he'll receive from the other boy. Harry didn't know much about people here in Driftveil, but he hoped that maybe Louis could show him around? He holds his breath, waiting patiently for his response.
