Harry Styles. He was the legend in school. He was a senior. And he was gorgeous. Everyone wanted him, obviously. And he knew that.

Louis was quite different. He was nothing like that. Nothing. He was a freshman. He wasn't actually like air, his classmates liked him. But no one else would point at him if some mentioned the name Louis Tomlinson.

He was nothing like Harry Styles, the legend. Or his companions, to be honest. Harry had the best friends. Niall Horan was such a funny guy, everyone knew him, and he could play the guitar. He performed sometimes at random events. And then there was Zayn Malik, with a Y. He was such a typical badass, with his quiff and cigarettes. And Liam Payne who...wasn't that much of a bad boy or a loud, funny guy, but he was nice, all-smiles, good looking and just genuinely likeable. He was the big brother type and somehow the three loud, crazy, dangerous guys seemed to need him.

Louis couldn't help it, he really couldn't. He had heard girls squealing whenever Harry Styles walked past them or bumped into them accidentally. He was that stunning, with his messy curls and his piercing green eyes. Stan thought that Louis was going crazy. And maybe he was.

Stan was the only person Louis had trusted with his secret. He told Stan. And he didn't make a scene of it, actually he had found it rather interesting. He was so curious, so genuinely curious, it was kind of embarrassing. But have you ever done it with a boy? Have you ever kissed a boy? How was it? So, you're a virgin? But then how do you know that you're gay? No judgment, Lou, but if you don't have experience, then how the hell...? That's so cool, man. Like you never ever thought of girls? No...That's weird. But isn't it...? I mean, how could you just come to the conclusion? Does your mum know? She doesn't hate you? Kudos to your mum, Tommo. She's great. But seriously, you had to fall for the biggest prick in school, yeah? He doesn't even consider freshmen real people, Lou. If you're younger than 15, he'll never look at you.

Stan was...helpful. Sort of. Kind of. Sometimes he was embarrassing, sometimes he was too loud, sometimes he was kind of stupid, but still...he knew all of Louis' secrets and he didn't judge him. But he was trying too hard to get Harry Styles' attention on them, especially on Louis.

Their first ever contact wasn't initiated by Stan, though. It was random, unexpected and, in Louis' opinion, rather embarrassing.

He was trotting down the main stairs, when his phone buzzed in his pocket. He reached after it, but didn't stop. And he obviously didn't really pay attention to the way he was going in. When he reached the hallway, he took a swift turn to the left whilst texting. And he bumped into something, rather embarrassingly. His phone fell out of his hands and he felt his legs entangle. He was about to fall and that didn't make it any better. His eyes were squeezed shut, but he felt a strong grip on his elbow.

'Whoa, kid, watch your step. You were about to knock me over."

His eyes sprung open just to stare into glimmering emerald ones as he steadied himself.

Harry Styles. Harry fucking Styles, gripping his elbow, talking to him, acknowledging him.

"Yeah, be careful, mate. Here's your phone." Liam smiled down at him, putting the device in his hands. He was gobsmacked. He didn't even realize that the other three were there too. He glanced up at the four tall, handsome guys, feeling self-conscious about the way his fringe was falling into his eyes, the way his whole attire looked ridiculous.

"Thanks. Sorry..." He mumbled awkwardly; he was about to melt into a puddle of shame. He was so embarrassing, so weird, so...nothing special.

"No problem, mate." Niall grinned, knowingly. He looked so understanding, in a way, like he had understood something the others hadn't seen. Louis gazed up at them again, trying to smile a bit, but then they stepped away, minding their own business. Zayn let his arm fall on Harry's shoulder. 'Poor kid, you almost knocked him over.'
