Ibrahim watched as a lot of nurses rushed in and out of the worried and scared for Aisha. He tried asking some nurses questions but they all ignored him. An extra hour had passed and a doctor finally came out accompanied by Doctor Hanan.

"Mr. Ibrahim, can we see you in my office please" she says

"Yes of course," He replies casually and follows them both

In the office Ibrahim is seated facing Doctor Hanan and the head doctor who ran the surgery, Doctor Edward.

"So, doctor, how was the transplant?" Ibrahim asks

"It was successful and by the grace of God she will wake up soon, hopefully in less than an hour" Dr Edward said with a confident smile plastered on his aging face.

"I really appreciate you and your team for saving my wife" Ibrahim says

For the first time he acknowledged Aisha as his wife. It felt weird but he knew he had to get used to it.

"It's no problem, it's what we do and what we are here for" Doctor Hanan said

"Can I go in to see her, like how she's doing now?" he asks

"Sure, but please you shouldn't disturb her and she should get proper rest and not be stressed even after she is discharged" Doctor Edward says and Ibrahim nods with a faint smile.

. . .

Ibrahim sits on the chair close to Aishas bed and watches her carefully and closely. He feels like a great burden had been carried from his chest and he felt a bit of happiness that she didn't have to go through any pain anymore. For the first time in years, he wanted to love again but he was scared, what if she wasn't the one who could make his heart beat fast? What if she chose to love someone else? Maybe she was in love with another person. . .

~RING-RING~

He glanced at his hone which he picked from his pocket and saw that it was his father calling

"Assalamu-aleikum Abba" he greets

"Wa'alaikum-Salam inauni?"

"Lafiya, ya gejiya, ya mama de Samira de Sultana?" he asks after his mom and sisters and holds Aisha's hands, gently caressing it.

"Lafiya Alhamdullillah" he replies "Ibrahim, is Aisha doing alright? I hope you guys aren't fighting anymore?" his dad asks

"Ah, Abba, not at all, I'm even trying to reconcile with her, I promise everything will be alright" he says

"Where is she, let me talk to her" he says

"Uhm Abba, she isn't available for now, but shell talk to you later, I'll make sure of it" he says knowing his dad will understand.

"Ok well, speak to mama" he hands the phone to his wife who is more than happy to talk to him.

"Ibrahim! My love! Yakake?" she asks with so much joy

"Lafiya mama, uhm how are you too?" he asks back

"I'm alright, how is my daughter in law?" she asks expecting great news

"she's fine but she is not available now"

"What do you mean?" her tone changes

"She's not available now so she'll have to talk to you later, uhm how are Samira and sultana?" he tries to change the topic

"Ibrahim do not lie to me" she says in her demanding voice

"Mama, I told you its fine, you don't have to worry"

Ibrahim tries to avoid telling them Aisha's state, it was easy with his dad but not for his mom, she always wants to know the bottom of things no matter what you tell her, she'd still find out. . .

"Uhm Mama, I'll call you later, let me get some things done" he says

"I know you're not telling me something, I will find out Ibrahim, you know me. . ." she says and hangs up.

He lets out a sigh of relief and keeps his phone on silent. Aisha moves a bit and faces him completely still fast asleep.

~25 MINUTES LATER~

Aisha slowly wakes up and sees Ibrahim on his phone, he has his phone in one hand and Aisha's smaller hand in the other. She doesn't move and stays still so he doesn't know she's awake. She watches him carefully and examines his features, she unintentionally smiles and then sneezes grabbing his attention

"You're awake" he says keeping his phone away.

"Uhm, how long was I out?" she asks

"Well, almost a day but it was worth the wait" he says

"When am I going to get discharged?" she asks

"it's definitely not today or tomorrow but ill speak to the doctor about it" he replies "Speaking of which, I have good news"

"What?" she asks hiding her eagerness

"While you were unconscious the doctor told me you really needed the heart transplant immediately and so I gave her a go ahead, she arranged a medical team of cardiologists and got it done, so your heat problem is 98.5% cured, you just need to complete your drip and drug medications, the bills are on me" he says and Aisha is stunned.

"Are you for real?" she asks as a wide smile appears on her face

"Yes-" before he could continue Aisha pulls him in for a tight hug around his neck, he is shocked and hugs her back around her lower back.

"Thank you so much" Aisha says barely above a whisper as she breaks down in tears of endless gratitude.

She never expected that she'd act like this especially towards Ibrahim. She couldn't contain her joy and had to burst. She could finally live normal again without having to suffer any excruciating pain, she didn't have to live through a lot of sleepless fear filled nights, she didn't have to be scared of dying painfully because of a heart disease, she didn't have to pass out unexpectedly causing worry to anyone, she didn't have to thin of walking into a surgery room, All thanks to Ibrahim. . .

Ibrahim smiled knowing he'd made her the happiest she'd ever been. He knew it was a good start and always wanted to see her this way.

. . .

It looks like Aisha is warming up to Ibrahim, and finally she's done going through all that heart pain...
