I was brought into this world in 2052, on May 31st. My story does not smell of posies, and it does not have a happy beginning. I was born in the unholy junction of two drunk gangers who decided to become bangers amidst the rabble of Night City. My mother was a Mox, she worked at Lizzie's bar and was known for breaking heads with baseball bats and slicing limbs with her Mantis Blades. My father was a red, white, and blue-blooded patriot of the 6th Street gang, and he happened to be drunk one night at Lizzie's during a ceasefire party. The result? A mistake. My mom took care of me the best she could under the circumstances but she was a die-hard Mox. She caught a bullet in Lizzie's bar when I was three, when the Animals rolled through and fucked the place up. My father decided to enter my life and took care of me until he also caught a bullet from the Valentinos when I was only five. I was raised in the streets, pushing XBDs and stealing Zetatech Repros when my organs failed from the cancerous Synthfood and Scop I scarfed down to survive. One day in 2065, I got caught in the crossfire between the Valentinos and Maelstrom, two of the hardest gangs in NC. I was shot six times. I was lucky enough to survive the initial damage, most bystanders weren't so lucky. Trauma Team swooped in to save the Corpo Execs that were standing around when shit hit the fan. They were efficient, and fast, and their teamwork was nuts. They swept the street of clients in less than a minute, but they left non-clients to die. By a miracle. Pure chance. One of the Paramedics, the one with a red helmet and a golden heart, picked me up and took me into the AV they flew down in...

"Fuck, It's Trauma! Clear out!" The Maelstrom leader yelled as the Red-Eyed psychos retreated. "¡Mierda! ¡Vuelvan con los hermanos y hermanas Heywood! ¡El Trauma nos va a acabar con nosotros!" The Valentino Leader called out to issue a retreat. "Lance! The fuck are you doing, that kid isn't a client!" One of the Security Specialists said with shock and disapproval. "I'm the lead EMT, right? So listen to me and shut the fuck up!" Lance said, lifting my limp and bloodied corpse into his arms. "Motherfucker, that kid can't pay for this shit!" The Specialist called out. "Then I will, fucker! Get on that fucking Aerodyne!" Lance yelled angrily, his red helmet shimmering in the sunlight. "Godamnit fine, Lance!" The Specialist yelled, getting into the AV they came down in. Lance followed quickly. "Can you hear me kid?" He yelled as he pulled me into the AV. I gurgled and coughed up blood in response. "Fuck." Lance said through gritted teeth as he put me on the operating table inside the AV. "Who the fuck is that? He's not a client!" The other Security Specialist said. "Shut up and close that fucking door!" Lance yelled. The Specialist pulled a lever and the doors to the armored AV sealed. "Administered 24mg of Etomidate!" the Assistant EMT yelled. All feeling in my body began to numb entirely. Lance's hand divided into an assortment of miniature mechanical limbs with various surgical tools attached. I couldn't feel anything. The Assistant EMT put an oxygen mask on my face and fed a ventilator down my windpipe. Lance performed a quick extraction of all six bullets and sutured all my wounds in time for us to arrive at the Trauma Team Corporate Hospital. I was taken by stretcher to an operating room where I was put under and my memory became hazy.

When I awoke, I was in a hospital bed covered in bandages. The sheets were a clean and pristine white. In the corner of the room was a man in black Corpo slacks with a white button-up on. He was slumped over in a chair, fast asleep. There were a bunch of wires and needles in my arms, and a heart monitor beeped softly. "The fuck? Where am I?" I asked no one in particular. The man stirred and looked up to see me awake. "Oh hey, you finally woke up choom." The man said. I recognized him immediately as the guy who saved me, Lance. "Why'd you save me? I don't have enough money to afford this!" I said in a panic. "Relax kid, I get a free day of Platinum every month. I used it on you." That caught my attention. "Why? Why me?" I asked. "I can tell, just by lookin' at you. Your life is just beginning kid. You've had it rough up till' now, grew up on the streets?" Lance asked. "Yeah. What's that got to do with you?" I asked him. "I did too kid. Worked hard to get into Trauma Team International. It's the one corporation that's actually attainable, it levels with people. It's tangible. I think it's in your future kiddo." Lance said with a smile. "Trauma Team? Me? But still, why'd you save me? What do you want from me?" I asked. "Kid, I wish I could tell ya'. It just felt right." My eyes widened when he said that. We sat in comfortable silence for a moment. "Ok... so if I did wanna join Trauma... how would I begin?" I asked, slowly opening up. "Well, first we're gonna get you into Trauma Team Foundational Training. Think of it like Trauma Team's own Arasaka Academy." I nodded along with his explanation and laid back in the hospital bed for a while longer. "So how long until I'm out of recovery?" I asked. "You're already done kid, been out in a coma for about a week." I looked at him shocked. "What?!" I asked. "We replaced your shady Zetatech Implants with genuinely respectable brands too. Arasaka, Militech, Kiroshi, Medtech... even some Trauma Team exclusives because of the Platinum Package." Lance said with a sly grin. "No fucking way!" I said like a kid on Christmas morning. I ran my BioMonitor Diagnostics and the data flashed across my retina. MedTech BioMonitor, "Oracle" Kiroshi Optics, Arasaka Neuralware: (Chipslot, Personal Link, and Nervous System Amplifier), Militech SynthLungs, MedTech Blood Pump, and the list goes on and on. Top-of-the-line quality-of-life and longevity Cyberware. "Now, there's a catch. You gotta work off some of those Eddies. 50% of the cost of the chrome. Luckily under Trauma Team, you shouldn't have a problem." Lance said. "Fuck yeah I will choomba!" I said excitedly. The very next day, I began Foundational Training.
