Police are investigating the mysterious death of Christopher S., a local gravedigger, who was found deceased inside the newly built mausoleum at Hilltop Cemetery yesterday morning.

The cause of death is currently unknown, with no signs of struggle or violence found on the body. "It's a very strange case," said Lieutenant Jones of the Towson Police Department. "Mr. S. was a healthy young man, and there's nothing to suggest how he ended up dead and alone inside a locked mausoleum."

The only other occupant of the mausoleum is the recently relocated coffin of Elena L., who passed away a little over a year ago. Police are currently reviewing cemetery records and security footage to see if they can shed any light on the events leading up to Mr. S. 's death.

"We're keeping an open mind on all possibilities," Lt. Jones added. "We'll be interviewing cemetery staff and anyone who might have seen Mr. S. in the vicinity of the mausoleum in the past few days."

The mausoleum was constructed specifically for Ms. L., and the circumstances surrounding Mr. S. 's presence there are unclear. This is a developing story, and further details will be released as they become available.
