The ambitious Princess Cathrine and the adventurous lord Gregory. A lovely tale, in which will become a story for the ages.

Soon enough the two reach their
destination, an old almost finished wooden room hidden up high in the thickest tree for miles. There's a ladder adhered to the trunk, leading up to it, with designs carved all along the wood steps.

Gregory stops right in front of the treehouse, looking up at it with a small smile."Here we are princess." He says opening his arms towards it jokingly.

Cathrine looks up at it in awe, the biggest smile overtaking her features. "It's astonishing." She breathes out amazed. "How in the heavens did you find it?"

"Well I did not exactly find it per say. You see my father started building it when I was quite young, right before he passed. It's not finished yet but I've been working on fixing it up, at least what I'm able to on my own." "It is truly beautiful Gregory."

Cathrine looks from the treehouse to him, smiling at the twinkle he has in his eye just from looking at it. "Thank you for sharing it with me." "Of course."

They stand there with each other, their gazes entangled as they simply smile. Gregory starts to say something before thinking better of it and closing his mouth.

"What is it? You look like a fish doing that." Cathrine teases trying to ease the growing tension beginning to bubble in the air. "Nothing" He shakes himself out of his trance beginning to move, "come on it's even better inside."

Gregory starts his way up the tree house stopping just before the opening. "You coming princess?" "I'm not sure the latter doesn't look all that sturdy." She jests as she moves to the first step. "These shoes certainly don't help my case either."

Gregory shakes his head at her as he enters the treehouse. Looking down at her through the hole in the floor he waves her up. "Would you hurry, I'll be old and gray by the time you make it up here!" "Do you ever shut up!" She narrows her eyes at him.

Cathrine makes it to the top, eyes widening as she almost falls backwards once she steps inside. Gregory grabs her hand at the perfect time though, making her fall into his arms as opposed to out of the tree house.

"You're just always falling for me aren't you." He teases making her look away from him. Grabbing her chin Gregory turns Cathrine's head back to him. "You shouldn't look away from me when I speak to you Princess, it's impolite."

He smirks as she pushes lightly herself away from him scowling. "You're one to talk Bridgerton." He opens his mouth to respond but falls short when Cathrine finally looks around, awe filling her face.

The tree house is a small one room building, with four walls but no roof, and an opening leading out to a little balcony. The wood itself has designs carved into it, in which you can tell are done by two different hands.

There's not much inside but a painting of Bridgerton house, hung above a small table to the side with 3 candles. The only other thing being a small bookshelf with various books and knick knacks covered by a small baby blue banister to keep them from getting wet.

"It seems you were right for once Gregory, it is even better inside." She looks upwards, smiling increasingly wide as she takes in the clouds.

"I'm always right darling." He responds, causing Cathrine to chuckle quietly. "I'm not kidding, you'd do well getting used to it." He winks before raising a brow at her as she simply shakes her head, looking around once more.

She sits down, lying on her back as she takes in the sunsets shades of pink and orange peaking through the trees.

Cathrine takes her eyes off of the heavens for a mere moment to look at Gregory, only to find him already looking at her. She smiles, tapping the spot beside her with her right hand.

"Would you like to look at the heavens with me Gregory, they're quite beautiful." Looking back to the sky she fails to realize that he doesn't stop looking at her as he says; "yes, beautiful indeed.

He lays next to her, mere inches between them as they watch the beginnings of a setting sun.

"Gregory?" "Yes your majesty" she simply gives him a narrowed look at that making him chuckle. "Thank you." Cathrine says looking into his eyes as he lay next to her. "For what darling?" Gregory asks turning to look at her as well.

"For letting me feel as though I can actually be myself, as though I am more than just your future queen."

"Cathrine of course you are more, so very much more. Your title is not all that defines you, I do hope you know that."

"You saying that means more to me than you will ever know, truly." She lets a small smile grace her face as their eyes look past the outside and into each other's souls.

"Meet me here tomorrow." Gregory rushes out before thinking. Cathrine's smile turns to a small smirk at the question. "Are you that obsessed with me already?" She teases with a hand to her heart.

"Shut up, miss future queen." Gregory taunts, the both of them laughing as they look back towards the sky.

"I am serious though, meet me here tomorrow if you're able around noon. This can be our place, a place where we can truly be wholeheartedly ourselves." He chances a glance at her only to see her smile widening. "Deal." She says suddenly sitting up and extending a hand towards him.

They shake hands as Cathrine grins, "a place to be ourselves." She says mostly to herself.

Their hands linger a mere moment longer than necessary as their smiles only widen. Glancing back up towards the darkening sky once more, they begin their journeys back home.

There were lots of new beginnings on this day. The beginning of a race in which Cathrine won, the beginning of a breathtaking sunset, and of course the beginning of adventures yet to come.

But most importantly of all, this was the beginning of one of the most breathtaking love stories ever to grace the Ton. The story Of one Gregory Bridgerton Catching the Princess and never letting her get away again.
