I HELPED ANNABETH show Percy around, though people slipped looks at us. I didn't stay for too long, though, and ran to Chiron.

I stood in front of him now, running my thumb over the engravings of my bow.

"So," I said slowly. "Um, Percy. I--- We think he needs to talk to the Oracle. We think he's a son of... Poseidon."

Chiron raised his brows at me. "Of Poseidon?" he repeated. "You mean, you think that he has broken his oath?"

I sighed, placing my bow down. "No, that's not what I meant. Just--- Don't you think he should talk to the Oracle?"

Chiron slowly nodded. "I know, Sol. I will speak with Mr. D about it."

And with that, I left.

A few hours later, Lee shouted "Cabin seven, fall in!" and we went to the dining pavilion. I sat down with everybody, murmuring the words "Dr. Pepper" to my cup, the goblet filling with the dark liquid.

"To the gods!" Chiron called, raising his cup.

"To the gods!" we repeated, holding up our own.

Nymphs came in with food, and we all began to eat. I munched on brisket and fruit, talking to Will while laughing.

When it was my turn, I stood up and walked over to the fire. I scraped a bit of meat into the flames, closing my eyes. "Apollo," I whispered quietly.

Every time I had to do this, I could feel my voice choke. I despised my father. After meeting him the first time I went to Olympus for the winter solstice, and learned that he had known what my mother was like, and left me with her.

But I straightened my back and walked to the table, sitting down with my eyes closed. Lee ruffled my hair.

Once dinner was over, we all went back to the cabin. I climbed onto the top of my bunk, slipping under my blanket. My head rested against the pillow, my hand running through my short hair. It was getting longer. I'd have to cut it again.

I was still in mourning. I was still mourning her, the first person who took care of me. And so I would have to keep cutting it until I could remember her without the tears gathering in my eyes.

And with that last thought, I went to sleep.
