SORAYA: (so-ray-ah)
Personality: On the surface, she is an average-looking, tomboyish young teen, but like most typical heroes, Soraya is brave and heroic, impulsively risking her own life for people she doesn't know and being loyal to a fault. Despite everything she has endured throughout her journey, Soraya has retained her upbeat and optimistic attitude. She shows little tolerance for cowardice and selfishness but is ultimately forgiving of those who are sorry for their actions. Soraya has a remarkable capacity to forgive, even those who have harmed her and her friends. She is also unwilling to give up on her beliefs, and even when things seem to be at their worst, she will still be there smiling. She shows great loyalty and pride to her friends, especially Riku, who is like her older brother figure. However, Soraya's personality may be affected by the presence of Ventus's heart of pure light, which has resided inside of her for most of her life. After Soraya returns Ventus's heart, she becomes noticeably more serious. Despite being more serious than ever about her quest, Soraya quickly gives up in the midst of battle, believing that she is worthless without her friends. However, she herself is quite competitive and childish. She often competes with Riku over numerous things, like racing across the islands, and is the first to jump when there's a contest. She is also obsessed with pirates. Although unintentional, Soraya initially does not know how to act towards people of higher authority than her and is very discourteous around both Master Yen Sid and Queen Minnie.
Appearance: Being a very tomboyish person, Soraya never wears skirts or dresses and prefers doing activities that most young boys would do. As a child, Soraya wears a white V-neck t-shirt with blue hems around the neck, arms, and waist, red cargo shorts with pockets, and brown sandals. Her spiky hair is usually done up in pigtails on either side of her head with two hairbands with little wooden stars on them, while the rest of her hair spikes wildly in the front.
In her early adolescent years, Soraya wears a Mickey Mouse-style outfit containing a red jumpsuit with a zipper that runs down the entire front. She wears a black and white jacket over top, yellow running shoes with black details, white fingerless gloves with yellow and blue straps, a blue belt, and her signature silver crown necklace. Her short brown hair is more tame, but she wears some of it in a high ponytail with a hairband with wooden stars on it.
Later on, Soraya wears a navy blue V-neck t-shirt with white hemming and a red front pocket and black cargo-style capris pants with yellow belts holding on to two red pockets on either leg. She has a black hooded jacket with white hemming and pauldron-like additions on the shoulder. Her fingerless gloves are black with white hemming, a yellow wrist strap, and white straps making an x across the back of the hand. Her shoes are black and yellow with a bit of blue and a zipper running the length of each shoe, and she wears her signature silver crown necklace. Her hair retains its spiky nature and a high ponytail done up with the same hairband with wooden stars, but is slightly longer and wilder in the front.
In Kingdom Hearts III, Soraya's appearance is a combination of all her previous outfits. She wears a black V-neck t-shirt with white hems and black cargo-style capris with grey pockets, as well as red straps. She wears a longer black hooded jacket with red hemming, grey pockets with white hemming, and red flannel flaps that are held down by a series of yellow buttons. Her shoes have the opposite colour scheme of Dream Drop Distance, with the ankle and tongue of the shoe folded down and a single black strap. Her grey fingerless gloves come to a v on her hands and are just short of her elbows. The gloves have red hemming, a yellow strap around the wrist, and a silver circle plate on the back of the hand. Her hair is significantly shorter, not long enough for a ponytail, and is less spikey, so she wears two wooden star-shaped berets on either side of her head. She also continues to wear her signature crown necklace.
KAI:
Personality: Kai goes against the tough guy cliché, preferring arts and crafts over sports and competition. He is caring, kindhearted, and brave. He is determined and courageous when someone he cares about is in danger, as he always puts himself in harm's way to help Soraya when she's in trouble, despite the dangers. Kai's heart is said to be filled only with pure light and goodness, despite darkness and evil residing in almost every heart. Kai is also very charismatic, having a talent for quickly befriending new people. He's usually very cheerful and upbeat. Although he has little ability to defend himself in combat, he is very brave and strong-willed, and he will put himself in danger anyway to help his friends. Unfortunately, this sometimes results in him needing rescuing. Probably the biggest part of Kai's character is his fear of change and the anxiety associated with it. In contrast to Soraya and Riku, who were both curious about Kai's homeland, he'd rather live on the Destiny Islands with his friends. He is loyal to his friends and can be rather stubborn sometimes. While the bond of friendship between Soraya, Riku, and Kai is strong, Kai seems to be particularly closer to Soraya than to Riku. Kai also has a strong connection with King Mickey's dog, Pluto. They met on the Destiny Islands, and he followed him through the dark corridors. Pluto is like his protector as well.
Appearance: Kai has auburn hair, aqua blue eyes, a pale complexion, and a necklace with a four-pointed star. At age 14, he wears a white t-shirt with light purple hems, a black sleeveless jacket with deep purple hems, purple cargo pants, and white slip-on shoes with purple caps. He also features yellow wristbands as well as a black belt around his waist.
In Kingdom Hearts II, Kai is taller, his hair is longer, and his bangs are swept to the left with a few strands sticking up on the right. He wears an outfit that mainly consists of a white tank top under a light purple and black short-sleeved jacket with a hood, as well as matching wristbands, medium purple pants with pockets, and lilac running shoes with black details.
As a child, his hair is a little shorter and plainer than it is when he's 14. He wears a white sleeveless shirt with a purple line across the chest, simple purple shorts, and white shoes with purple lines on them.
In Kingdom Hearts III, Kai has a purple and black sleeveless jacket with a hood over a grey t-shirt, purple pants with black pockets held on by silver buttons, new wristbands, and thick belted boots. He also cut his hair shorter, his bangs sweeping to the right and the top is more wavy.

Author's Note: I included this bio as a visual aid to my vision of what Sora and Kairi would look like if they were the opposite gender. (Will appear at the start of following fanfictions as the saga continues). I changed Kairi's signature pink to purple instead. I hope you can picture them in animated form like I can, because I can only draw cartoonish characters. I hope you like the pictures either way. Drawing the hair to look close to what I imagined was really hard. As previously mentioned, 'Soraya' is a Persian name that means "star cluster", and 'Kai' is a unisex name that means "sea" in Hawaiian.
Spoiler warning for those who are not as savvy on the whole story of some characters.
Thank you, and please, no rude comments.
