Chapter 4: Wonderland (A World that is Nonsense)

It didn't take very long for the Gummiship to reach the next world. It looked rather pretty, with a mishmash of interesting colours. When they left the ship, however, they found themselves slowly falling down a deep hole with furniture and clocks attached to the wall. Soraya couldn't tell up from down or how long they had been falling.

Soon enough, their fall slows down, and she and Donald land safely on their feet. Goofy, on the other hand, had been lounging in midair and landed with a thud on the floor. They couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh, my fur and whiskers! I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!" Out of nowhere, a white rabbit wearing a waistcoat runs past them frantically, carrying a large pocket watch. "Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! I'm here. I should be there. I'm late, I'm late, I'm late! The queen, she'll have my head for sure!"

The trio watched him run around the corner in the hallway in confused shock. "Uh, did you fellas just see--?" Goofy started.

"A talking rabbit in a waistcoat?" Soraya finished. "Yep."

"I wonder what he's late for." Donald said.

"I remember the terminal in the Gummiship saying something about this world." Goofy said thoughtfully. "It's called Wonderland. Everything here is strange. Nothing makes any sense."

"So the logic here is all backwards?" Soraya asked. She couldn't help but wonder what kind of weird things they might find. The three of them decided to follow after the rabbit to find out. There was a busy tick-tock sound from the many clocks as they went down the hall. At the end of it was a door that opened to another and another one after that. The craziness was happening already.

Through the doors was another room, and they saw the rabbit dash through a small door with a golden knob, and it closed behind him. Soraya kneeled down to get a closer look, very confused. "How did he get so small?"

"No, you're simply too big." The doorknob spoke, catching them all by surprise.

"WAK! It talks!" Donald exclaimed.

"Must you be so loud? You woke me up." The knob said, giving a tired yawn.

"Good morning," Goofy said cheerily.

"Goodnight! I need a bit more sleep." The knob closed his eyes again to get some more rest.

"Wait, what do we have to do to get small?" Soraya quickly asked.

"Why don't you try to bottle... over there?" Just then, a table and chair appeared behind them with two bottles sitting on it, one red and one blue. "Boy, this place really is weird." Soraya muttered. They looked at the bottles closer and realized the labels were different. The red one had a sapling becoming a grown tree, and the blue one had a tree shrinking into a sapling.

After they each took a sip from the blue bottle, they shrank down to mouse size. "Gawrsh, it worked! We're tiny!" Goofy exclaimed. "Now we can get in." After realizing the doorknob was asleep again and refused to open up, they discovered a hole in the wall right next to the door, so they went in that way instead.

Eventually, the trio found themselves in a hedge maze, and right in the centre of it was a peculiar sight: massive playing cards holding spears. They were walking and talking. Wonderland really is very strange.

When the cards moved aside, the three travelers caught sight of a young girl with blonde hair and a blue dress standing at a podium. She didn't look more than ten years old. The white rabbit appeared again, running up a flight of stairs before blowing his trumpet. "Court is now in session!"
