This story is based off the manuha of Who Made Me A Princess. I don't own the story. All I own are my oc's.
4 Years Before the Harem Massacre:
In the throne room of Alger Obelia, there was a grand audience. People whispered and sneered at the ambassadors of Van Die Siel. Many rumors and secrets surrounded that place. Rumors that stated under their cities were mountains of gold and jewels. The people were even stranger. People who can control their bodies to the highest degree. They can speed up or go in slow motion. A technique passed onto their descendants. Their bodies contain not mana, but something else. The people of Van Die Siel called it polver d'olo. Gold dust.
However, there were even stranger events, such as their deep connection with animals. Some stated that the people of Van Die Siel were descendants of demons who had the power to control creatures. Right now, two animals linked themselves to the ambassadors. A pure white dove sat on one's shoulder. On the other, an emerald green serpent was wrapped on the other's arm, almost like an armband. It hissed at the nobles- noting how the nobles stared at her mistress with hatred. The nobles took a step back as they gasped. Emperor Claude smirked at the nobles' reaction.A man and woman bowed. In the country, men and women were seen as equals and could hold any positions. To the people of the Obelia empire, it seemed strange and backward. Women had the right to be anyone she dared please: a doctor, an owner of a trade, even a soldier. They were not constrained in filling the roles of a humble wife and a mother to many children.
"The dark-skinned people," many nobles whispered. In the people of Van Die Siel, many of them had darker skin than the people of Obelia. That does mean there were not many people who were light-skinned like the people of the Obelian Empire. They were, but not many. All the nobles wore judgmental stares. Many people of the Obelian empire called them dragons who hoard their gold and treasures. However, they did nothing productive. They wore light clothing that revealed too much skin, like the ambassadors are wearing currently. The woman was wearing a light blue dress that bares her shoulders and went to her knees. The man's chest was bare and one can see the strong muscles in his abdomen. He was wearing a skirt made of red fabric that reached his ankles. His skirt was held up by a gold belt. The nobles stared at the gold belt with greed-knowing that behind that country held countless jewels and gold. However, they were secretive and never let any foreigner enter their land. Many have tried and started a war with the country; however, they have lost and suffered the consequences.
In addition, they live in trees. Trees that can house 50 people and big as a count's home, or so the rumors say. They made homes and live their lives alongside animals. Many whispered that their fighting techniques were barbaric. They would fight with their bare hands. Everything the people of Van Die Siel did seem preposterous and scandalous. One word for the nobles' in the Obelian Empire to describe is despicable. It was a mystery how their country had lasted without alliances until now.
However, misfortune hit the people of Van Die Siel. The people of Van Die Siel had fallen ill to an unknown sickness. Only help from the magicians can heal them. None of them were capable of using mana for they had polver d'olo. Polver d'olo was the opposite of mana. It was the dust that connected them with nature and their physical bodies at a deeper and intimate level. However, due to their gift, it was leaving them defenseless to an unknown disease that can only be healed by mana.
They were defenseless and had come to seek help from other countries. However, all of them turned the people away-not even hearing of their plea or any treaty. All hoping that once their numbers were wiped by half, they would come and take over their land and reaped the riches. All the nobles snickered at the two-knowing that the Obelian Empire was their last hope.
