Hoseok has been more frustrated recently. He had been watching Jimin deteriorate day by day, and despite their recent visit to the doctor, nothing seemed to be improving.
The sight of Jimin's increasingly pallid face and weak frame was driving Hoseok to the brink of his patience.
One evening, as they all settled down after a particularly grueling rehearsal, Hoseok couldn't hold back any longer. He found Jimin alone in the living room, absently scrolling through his phone. The other members had retreated to their rooms, leaving the two of them in relative privacy.
"Jimin," Hoseok said, his voice tense. "We need to talk."
Jimin looked up, surprised by the intensity in Hoseok's eyes. "What is it, hyung?"
Hoseok took a deep breath, trying to keep his frustration in check. "You need to confess to your love interest before it's too late."
Jimin's eyes widened in panic. "W-what are you talking about?"
Hoseok stepped closer, his expression serious. "Who is it, Jimin? Who's the person you have feelings for?"
Jimin's throat tightened, and he looked away, unable to meet Hoseok's piercing gaze. "I can't tell you that, hyung."
Hoseok's frustration boiled over. "Tell me, Jimin! Now! Is your love interest in our group?"
Jimin's silence spoke volumes, but he managed to shake his head. "No..."
Hoseok wasn't convinced. His voice rose, his desperation evident. "Is it Jungkook?"
The mention of Jungkook's name made Jimin's heart race, but he forced out a denial. "N-no."
Hoseok, sensing he was close to the truth, decided to push harder. "You know, Jungkook is a handsome man. Imagine him being married someday? And since you're his best friend, you will most probably be the best man."
The words struck a nerve. Jimin's breathing hitched, and suddenly he was coughing violently, unable to catch his breath. The coughing fit escalated, petals and blood splattering onto the floor.
Hoseok's eyes widened in shock, and he quickly rushed to Jimin's side. "Oh my god, Jimin!" He rubbed Jimin's back, trying to soothe him. "Breathe, Jimin, just breathe."
Jimin struggled to control the coughing, his body trembling with the effort. Hoseok's heart ached at the sight, the reality of Jimin's condition hitting him like a ton of bricks.
"Why didn't you tell us it was this bad?" Hoseok's voice was softer now, filled with concern. "We could have helped you sooner."
Jimin finally managed to catch his breath, wiping his mouth with a trembling hand. "I... I didn't want to worry you guys."
Hoseok shook his head, tears welling up in his eyes. "You can't go through this alone, Jimin. We love you, and we want to help you. Please, let us in."
Jimin looked at Hoseok, seeing the genuine concern and love in his eyes. He knew he couldn't keep hiding the truth, not when it was tearing him apart and hurting his friends.
"It's Jungkook," Jimin whispered, his voice barely audible. "I love Jungkook."
Hoseok's expression softened, his heart breaking for his friend. He pulled Jimin into a comforting hug. "It's going to be okay, Jimin. We'll figure this out together."
Jimin clung to Hoseok, tears streaming down his face. For the first time in weeks, he felt a glimmer of hope. With his friends by his side, he might just have the strength to face whatever came next.
As they sat there, Jimin realized that he couldn't hide anymore. He had to find a way to tell Jungkook the truth, no matter how terrifying it seemed. With Hoseok's support and the unwavering bond of their friendship, Jimin felt a newfound resolve. They would get through this, together.
