'I can't do this anymore.'

I thought to myself as I looked down at the water that was below me, it's almost as if it was inviting me to jump in.

A middle schooler wanting to die at such a young age? What a fucking joke.

I wasn't thinking straight anymore.

"Maybe I should g-" she whispered softly, before her whispers were interrupted by an entity who punched the damn bridge she was standing on.

It sent her flying through the air,

Her eyes widened as she let out a loud squeal.

"SHIIIIIIIIITT!" she closed her eyes shut, scrunching her face up.

Well, while I'm still alive, I figured I should apologize for all the things I've done. Huh?

Mom, dad, I'm sorry for always being so stubborn and lazy. I always made a mental note to myself to change but I never did. And look where that got me. You both are dead.

Dear friends', I'm sorry if I didn't give you my all. And I'm sorry if I wasn't able to please you enough. Wait.. Who am I kidding? They were always lying, greedy skanks, always backstabbing the shit out of me.

And finally, to myself. Sweetheart, sorry I couldn't fulfill your promise of being apart of the Defense Force. All that hard-ass training for nothing, huh?

Before she could land on the water, a pair of arms were wrapped around her. One on her thighs, and the other one on her back.

A shiver went down her spine, her eyes fluttered open only to see a bowl-cut male with fox-like eyes.

Her eyes glimmered with adoration and respect, leaving her lifeless eyes to shine with hope.

Just who was this guy?

She was completely speechless, not even realizing that the man had already brought her to the safe zone.

He gently laid her down before standing up, his back facing her.

"Don't worry, the Defense Force will take care of this." he said before leaving the female to her own thoughts.

Why do I suddenly feel so motivated? Where's all the depressing shit that was here awhile ago?

Despite her confusion, she couldn't help but lean into the feeling, smiling.

That guy..

...

Fine, I guess I'll continue to pursue my dream of being a part of the Defense Force.

So that I can meet that guy again face-to-face and thank him for giving me a reason to live. And I'll show him what I'm made of!

Damn, what a badass way of saying thank you, am I right?
